How do you warm up before your training?

I often see people jumping on the treadmill to warm up or, in some cases, even starting their training straight away without any preparation. Both of ways can cause injuries.


Warming up on the treadmill will increase your heart rate and your temperature, but it won't stimulate the group muscle you will use specifically. Jumping straight to your training won't prepare any muscle at all.

My tip for you would be: do an warm up doing the exercises you will do using your body weight or a really small weight, as well with some specific warming for the joints you will use.

Are you training lower body?
Great. Do some body weight squats and some leg swing;

Are you training back?
How about some pulling exercises with light weight and shoulders rotation?

Better later than never!

Lower body today, focus on hammies and glutes. Program consisted of:
Stiff leg, leg curls, hip raises and back extensions. 4 sets of each of them, 6 reps of each.

Lots and lots of people say that back extensions is a lower back exercise, but I have to disagree. It can work the lower back muscles, yes, but it is primarily a glutes and hammies exercise.
It is impossible to perform it without a full engagement of the said muscle groups.
Try it out and let me know! :) Why did I work with rep numbers and not until failure?
My focus on this cycle is strength, so the lowest the reps and the more perfect my form, better. When people train by themselves and push to have a concentric failure, they tend to lost in form.
