Chocolate braided Danish! Recipe instructions below ~ #croissant #Thanksgiving #baking #braid #danish #cooking #chocolate #recipes

1 large (sweetened) chocolate bar of choice
1 egg (for the egg wash)
1 can of puff pastry (croissant dough works)
1/2 cup flour (to roll the dough over)

1. Spread flour onto a baking sheet, pastry paper or aluminum foil. Place the dough into the flour.
2. Cover a rolling pin in flour and then roll the dough out with the rolling pin until flat.
3. Fold the dough over itself and then roll it flat again. Repeat this many times. This is important for how fluffy and layered you want the pastry to be.
4. Place chocolate bar onto the dough and then cut diagonal lines into the dough to either side of the bar.
5. Cut away the top and bottom corners of the dough and then wrap the bar with dough in a criss cross pattern.
6. Crack an egg into a small container and wisk. Gently paint the wash onto the pastry with a spoon or brush.
7. Place entire pastry onto a new, unfloured baking sheet, preferably non-stick or sprayed with non-stick cooking spray.
8. Bake at 350 and check frequently until desired consistency of dough and chocolate is achieved.

It should not be cooking for longer than 10 minutes total unless desired. ° Add powdered sugar, nuts, chocolate sauce or other toppings as desired.
