Espresso Panacotta, Le Plaisir, Pune.

The ending of this meal a while back at the excellent Le Plaisir at Pune, weirdly gave me the comfort of how Mumbai's much loved Matunga.

Much like I end most meals with a cup or two of filter coffee at Matunga, this french cuisine outpost in Mumbai's cousin city has a stellar espresso Panacotta up its sleeve and was frankly the best part of the entire meal the four friends had.

As you'd expect from a well made cup of coffee, this was punchy, strong with a bittersweet taste when you combine the crumb and the Panacotta, which itself was perfectly wobbly. The distinguishing feature of this dish is the interesting little sword, which isn't pictured well enough. Forgot what flavoring was incorporated into the sword, but I could taste some nuttiness. Easily something I would order on every single visit, considering the mains itself make this place worth visiting.

Back to today, and satiating ourselves with mangoes as the dessert though. Wonder if they'd try a Hapus Panacotta.
