After surgery I’ve been fighting swelling issues. I’m unsure if it’s in the muscles that been repaired or behind it like gas or bloating. had some leftover shrimp 🍤 from making @nomnompaleo’s wonton meatballs yesterday, so I threw them into a skillet with frozen bell peppers and onions (from @traderjoes), then tossed it all with the TJs Chile Lime seasoning and garlic powder! I made sweet potato fries earlier so I added some of those with a delicious @whole30 homemade herb aioli dressing! #Whole30day4 going strong! 💪🏼

By now it must be clear that if the instructions of a meal are “cook everything in a pan” then it’s a recipe I am fond of. There are TONS of paleo egg roll bowl recipes online, but the great thing is you can really use whatever is on hand, like I did 💁🏻‍♀️ Whip this baby up tonight, sit back & relax knowing you only have one pan to clean 🤙🏻

2 T avocado oil
½ onion, diced
3 carrots, peeled & diced
2 celery ribs, peeled & diced
Pinch of salt
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 inch fresh ginger, grated
1 lb ground turkey (or any ground meat)
½ head of green cabbage, shredded
½ bag of purple cabbage, shredded
1 t toasted sesame oil
2 ½ - 3 T coconut aminos (depending on your preference)
3 shakes fish sauce
¼ t ground ginger
¼ t red chili pepper flakes
Heat pan over medium heat w/ 2 T avocado oil. ▪️ Sauté onion for 3-5 minutes, stirring frequently. ▪️ Once translucent, add the ground turkey & cook until fully browned. ▪️ Then add the carrot and celery – continue to sauté. ▪️ When all veggies have softened, add the minced garlic and fresh ginger – mix and let cook for 30 seconds – 1 minute (until it become fragrant). ▪️ Add in the green and purple cabbage, stir well and let it cook down. ▪️ While the cabbage is cooking, make the sauce with the remaining ingredients by mixing them all in a small bowl. ▪️ After the cabbage has wilted, add the sauce, mix well & let cook for 5-7 more minutes on med-low heat. ▪️ Serve topped with cilantro and a few extra shakes of red chili peppers for that final kick!
