“I walk around like everything is fine, but deep down, inside my shoe. My sock is sliding off”—Me today while running lol
-
So, that white screen you see on the right side, in all its haunting luminous beauty is a server error hahaha
-
I tried to deploy my test Rails app to heroku and apparently I didn’t create a table, which is bull because in my development environment the app totally works.

According to Dr. Barbara Oakley, author of the book “A Mind for Numbers” your brain works in 2 states. A “focused” state and a “diffuse” state.
-
Whenever you are intentionally trying to solve a problem you are in “focused” mode. In this mode you use smaller neural passages and less areas of the brain.
-
And when you are doing a different activity, and kinda thinking about your problem in the back of your head in a more “relaxed” way you are in “diffuse” mode, and in this mode you use more neural passages and activate more areas of the brain.
-
Have you ever wondered why sometimes when you go to sleep thinking about a problem you can’t solve, and then the next day you wake up and suddenly you know the answer to your problem?
-
Well, this happens because your brain has been working all night in “diffused” mode and has used more areas that allow it to come up with creative solutions.
-
Actually a lot of the greatest minds moved back an forth between this 2 modes unknowingly.
-
For example, Salvador Dali, and Benjamin Franklin.
-
So... tonight no mo’ code for me, I’m gonna let my “diffuse” mode kick in. And maybe order some Japanese and watch some Netflix.
-
Anyway, I thought this is very interesting. I know I totally went off on a tangent lol

This sign from my friend Jen is my favorite thing on my mantle this Christmas! I had a vision and she helped me bring it to life. I’m so thankful for talented and creative friends like that! You know how they say it takes a village...well home decor is no exception 🤣😂 Happy Sunday!! #wilshirecollections
