Feeling pretty good this arvo... I wasn't well this morning but Dad got me out of the house to help a young lady move some furniture. It was really nice talking to her and her young friend I think they were like 15-16. I like teenagers I find them easy to get along with and connect with probably because high school for me was more about trying to learn to socialise and fit in.. It's funny because when I was a kid I preferred the company of adults a lot of the time because I found other children intimidating and unpredictable. And adulthood has been about trying to contribute to society in a way I can cope with. Yet to figure that out. Anyway feeling good. Times have changed a bit since I was first applying for jobs... I got knocked back repeatedly and never new fully why. I thought I wasn't local enough or related to enough people in bruthen... I had one real job in high school for a period of six months but had to quit because my family moved.. It was dodgey but it was something. K-mart did not want to know me because I had black hair with purple underneath basically I wasn't Vanilla enough.. Hahaha look at all the staff now coloured hair is fine. Mostly never made it past the interview process no matter how basic the job... I worked for the Advertiser out the back collating papers but once I turned 17 or 18 I was never called in again. I have social difficulties and would get caught off guard no matter how much I practiced what to say. I applied for everything going in town and tried my best to fit in and make a good impression. 6 months after my original job applications to Coles and Vegco and 3 weeks after leaving town for uni I got phonecalls from both saying they had a position I could apply for... I was 23 hr drive away and trying to establish myself at uni so I declined and explained why. I went to Uni for one semester had a mental breakdown due to the social expectations of uni and came down with Glandular fever. I was put on a part disability pension which was eventually rejected. I continued to live in lismore and began studying conservation. Whilst 'recovering' from mental illness. I was straight edge and never did drugs. Continued below ↓↓
