Pulling myself out of the darkest hole I've ever experienced in all the ways I know how. Food IS medicine. These vegan, gluten-free brownie cakes are made with yams and flax mill which are high in B vitamins and omega 3 fats that are excellent brain food producing more serotonin and combating depression. They are lightly sweetened with pure maple syrup because processed sugars are NOT my allie right now. Topped with cashew mylk ice cream definitely helps too 👌✨ •

CALENDAR COMPLETE!

Day 21/21 Active Recovery. I really enjoyed the yoga after the long drive home.
Now I am now ready for the mad dash to Christmas! I still have shopping. Do you?

I’ve spent 2017 digesting and reassembling all of my years as a neuroscientist, hundreds of research publications, hours of new learning opportunities and so much time with new families and infants 👶 . I’m so excited to emerge in 2018 with the first draft of my book, online workshops, in person workshops and support for all families who wish to nurture their infants special brain 🧠. In the beginning I thought that transformation would happen directly from caterpillar 🐛 to butterfly 🦋 but I went through a difficult process of decay and transformation. Ginger pear smoothie for ya!

1 large, ripe pear chopped
1/2 zucchini steamed then frozen, chopped
1/2 small cucumber, chopped
1/2 lime juiced
1 small knob of ginger peeled
Wee bit of parsley
1/2 cup water to blend*

Blend everything. Strain and enjoy! I was needing the extra fiber today so went without straining. Nice and lumpy but still yummy in the tummy.
