Do you watch yourself while working out? Sometimes videos or a mirror can be very helpful with form and in my case a little comedy! Things I learned today- a) I thought I was deep in my squat- umm was I bending my knees at all? b) maybe music isn’t the best idea for me- I was bouncing all over the place! A quick video quickly helped me realize my form was way off and fix it! Today was the dreaded annual health screening at work. While I know I've been working my butt off and making healthy choices, I was a nervous wreck! Like, mild panic attack and tears in front of the nurse wreck. Over what? Stupid numbers!! I knew in my heart that I'd been doing what I should and yet I was still searching for some sort of validation that my hard work was paying off. I'm happy to report my numbers were great (well after I calmed my mind and my BP went down 😂) and all vastly improved from this time last year. .
So today's Transformation Tuesday goes out to the journey. The picture on the left was from my first ever "race". While I didn't really train for it and I walked basically the entire thing, it was on that day 3 years ago I decided something had to change and I began my health journey. It's been a bumpy ride and I have been far from perfect. I've messed up and fallen off track a million times but I always get back up. I continue to show up for myself every single day and I refuse to fail. And believe me, if I can do it, YOU can do it! So please know if you EVER need someone to encourage you on this journey, I'm always here to help!

Arms and shoulders for the day. During many exercises there can be a range of emotions: happiness, confusion, fright, empowerment, disappointment, frustration, success. Sometimes you can get the whole range in one workout! I just try to do my best and end with feelings of success. I am better than I was last time!

😞😞😞 Feeling out of sorts today! Just want to give up but know that's not the answer! Need to get out of this funk. I am in a 80 Day challenge where I exercise everyday during the week and I feel better physically but the scale still refuses to move. Feel like I'm doing something wrong or maybe I just need a day of rest tomorrow and do my intermittent fasting and make up the workout on Saturday. Something needs to give. I have been stuck for so long it's getting to be depressing. Maybe I need more sleep during the week....not sure but I just feel 😛😛😛Hopefully tomorrow is a new and better day!

Flu day 5- Savannah is fever free and vomit free. Still says her legs feel weak and hurt but, should be good to go back to school tomorrow! Nolan is still fighting a 103 fever today, some very fussy moments and still clinging to mommy like glue! Hopefully he will be able to sleep off his fever tonight! Knock on wood- Adam and I are still hanging Flu free. Fingers crossed it stays that way! Lol all that said- the amount of adorable in this photo is 😍😍 too sweet!

Whoa!! I love this workout. I was able to use the green band for the entire workout. Still working on feeling the burn on the hinges. Still not doing something right. Just 2 months apart and already am thrilled with how these at-home workouts & whole food nutrition plans are getting me to where I want to be over & over again. Sure I'm excited to get some abs 😉 BUT in truth, the CORE is our center, & I need it working in my favor as I chase around an energetic almost-2-year-old.

It wasn't until I was postpartum with Braxton that I really started to appreciate what my yoga, Pilates, & dance teachers had been saying for YEARS about our core center. Getting up out of the rocker after nursing, even when Brax was just 7 lbs, I seriously thought the rocker was broken or something. I had to heave-ho myself up with him in order to get out! It was then that I started to realize: ohhhhh... yeah.... my core muscles are gone!

Balance, stability, bending, lifting, keeping our back healthy and our body UPRIGHT, our core does more for us than we give it credit for. That's what this new program is focused on-- targeting the muscles that are often neglected, under-trained, missed, or overly tired because we spend a lot of time sitting & stationary. And as much as I have not loved ab work in my past- I can no longer ignore it. I feel that reality deep in my core center 😉 'Belly-button to spine, deep in the abdominal wall, lift the pelvic floor.' lol-- I know my former instructors will appreciate that verbiage, am I right?! Or they may end up correcting me on it too, we shall see!

Laying down in the job!! Ha! If only it was as relaxing as just lying down! My #booty is on 🔥!!! Day 9 of #80DO is no joke and my resistance loops arrived today as well 😱

Had to take special measures and breakout the #peppermint and #eucalyptus oils to ease these sore muscles. 💪
My hamstrings, IT bands and glute meds are not happy right now 😂
But I know these essential oils mixed with some coconut oil will be the answer!!! #pineapple #imobsessed #BOD #fitmom #essentialoils #soremuscles #glutes #hams #specialmeasures
