**[Vol.1 & Vol.2 is avilable link in bio]** In the Name of Allah (A history of Clarence 13X and The Five Percenters) vol. 1 by: @WakeelAllah 💥
In the name of Allah the history of Clarence 13x and the Five Percenters is the first definitive history ever written about this powerful youth movement. Thousands of young Blacks and Latinos have pledged allegiance to the philosophy of the 5 Percenters and the influence of the movement has permeated throughout the streets of urban America, the school system, penal institutions and #HipHop culture. 🌟🌙
The origins of the Five Percenters can be traced to its founder, The late Clarence 13X Smith aka Allah. A former member of Elijah Muhammad's Nation of Islam, he studied under Minister #MalcolmX at the #Harlem Mosque number 7 in the early 60s. He subsequently founded and youth movement based on the core doctrine of the NOI and his own lessons referred to as "Supreme Mathematics" and "Supreme Alphabets." ⚫

“And this is how it started. Just with coffee and the exchange of their long stories. Love can be incremental. Predicaments, too. Coffee can start a life just as it can start a day. This was the meeting of two people who were destined to love from before they were born, from before they made choices that would complicate their lives. This love just rolled toward my mother as though she were standing at the bottom of a steep hill. Mother had no hand in this, only heart.” ~ Silver Sparrow.

“Regret is a form of punishment itself...”, Nourman Ali Khan, Instructor 🧐
.
.
.
Hindsight, I think, is a useless tool. We, each of us, are at a place in our lives because of innumerable circumstances, and we, each of us, have a responsibility to move along life's road, to find a better path if this one does not suit, or to walk happily along this one if it is indeed our life's way. .
.
.
Changing even the bad things that have gone before would fundamentally change who we are, and whether or not that would be a good thing, I believe, is impossible to predict.
.
.
.

So I take my past experiences... and regret NOTHING for EVERYTHING has brought me to this place. The good • The bad • The highs • The lows • The heartbreak • The joy • All of it. My whole is a sum of parts. I stand as a puzzle glued together with various pieces. Each one, a reminder of my life’s journey. .
.
.
No REGRETS, just LESSONS. No WORRIES, just ACCEPTANCE. No EXPECTATIONS, just GRATITUDE. For in the end, I am thankful for it all. And I regret NOTHING

@luvvie ‘s writing is blunt + your aunties shade with a lining of humour + sarcasm. She touches on topics from friendships, dating, racism, feminism, privilege, success, social media, religion, and more. I love how she is able to discuss real issues with rawness and ease. .
.
In the spirit of Black Panther, I share this quote to say, if y’all can say the names of Wakanda characters with correct accents, I need y’all to do better in respecting people’s name and learning how to say it correctly instead of acting like it’s impossible. Just ask! Say it out-loud a few times and practice. Names mean things. They carry history, ancestry and meaning. .
.
“How African names are approached by many Americans and the barrier of entry to even saying them feel like more othering. We have learned to say much harder names. We have learned phonetic rules of other tongues while footing the fact that a lot of African names still follow English prononciation rules. By doing this, we’re telling people that their African names are too difficult and not worth learning how to say correctly. We tell them their culture is a nuisance to our Western tongues and we force people to either abandon their real monikers or be faced with people who are annoyed at having to make an effort. It’s disrespectful.”

“I had this on my Instastory, a few weeks ago, and I just wanted to share the Bible I had diligently used since my junior year of high school. I used to use the woman’s study bible. Now, I use a journal the word bible (NIV). And I’m not the most picky when it comes to reading bibles, but I do feel compelled to reading bibles that I feel like I can understand & connect with...(I know that sounds weird... 🤷🏽‍♀️) but I do believe that picking a bible to read that “spiritually” draws you to it is something that’s crucial to your spiritual journey.” ✨🌱✨ And these bibles I’ve listed above have had a significant—significant impact in gracing me with a keen understanding of who God is, and who he’s created/instructed me to be. It’s through him—-through his words... where I found my purpose, and accepted my calling.” (Your bible is a weapon—treat it as such.) (The battle is spiritual not physical—-always remember that, Loves. Always.) .
