The United Arab Emirates is becoming increasingly vulnerable to sea level rise. This year, Dubai is getting its first of 33 floating private villas that will bob up and down with water levels so they won't flood.

For those who desire a flood-proof home, the price won’t be cheap – Each island will cost between $23 million and $27.5 million, and will only be accessible by boat or seaplane.

This gun can heal burns in just a few days. It sprays the victims own stem cells (collected from healthy skin) on wounds. The procedure takes 90 minutes and shows permanent results in days. It works in the same nature as an artist would use an airbrush but with more precision. The "Skin Gun" could become an alternative to skin graft surgery. RenovaCare's Skin Gun is in the developmental stage and is still awaiting FDA approval to make this an available commercial product.

After a driving accident in 2010, Ian Burkhart was left paralyzed from the neck down. Six years later, doctors implanted a chip in his brain that allows him to grasp objects. The chip works so well that he was even able to play his favorite video game, "Guitar Hero.” Burkhart said, “And now, it’s just something that’s so fluid it’s just kind of like it was before I had my injury, where I just think about what I want to do and now I can do it.” According to Nick Anetta, an engineer at Battelle Memorial Institute, “This is possible, you can take someone, a human being who is paralyzed and give them the ability to use that paralyzed limb again in a functional way.” Two more patients are scheduled to receive brain chips as part of the study.
