Facebook saw it first but here we go.
While some people are going to be disgusted, who gives a shit. 1 year, 7 months and 25 days ago or, 604 days ago, or 86 weeks, or over 690,000 minutes ago I had gastric sleeve surgery. When I went to Tijuana I weighed 364lbs. I was a big ol' boy. While these pictures may be disturbing, it's who I was, and I will never forget who I was and how far I've come. Currently I weigh 240lbs, have lost nearly 3 shirt sizes, and am currently working on my 6th pant size down. I started working out again a few months ago and I already feel so much better. After I stopped when my junior year ended, I felt empty. Being at the gym motivates me and makes me want to improve. That doesn't change how I view myself though. When I look in the mirror, I either don't recognize myself or I see who I was. I still see myself at 364lbs, as a small whale. I still find myself disgusting. I still have issues taking my shirt off in front of anyone that isn't immediate family. I still don't find myself attractive. I don't understand when people hit on me and I'm still in absolute disbelief when people tell me I'm beautiful and that I've changed so much. While you probably find me disgusting, know I feel the same. But that isn't all negative. I feel disgusting but at the same time when I feel the extra skin, I grab my stomach, I feel my body I know I've done work and I've made progress. So while others may find disgust in me, I find nothing but pride. I've come so far and that's something to be proud of.
Let's also take the time to appreciate how great my beard looks.
