It’s not all fun and games @forgeperformancenw...well...SOMETIMES it is in between sets! If anyone can actually explain to us HOW this game is played we would love to know but the kids certainly like it!

After going 2/3 in the snatch this past Saturday, I knew I had to keep my focus, as it was the clean and jerks that did me in at last year's AO.

Choosing to open at 155kg (341lb), I was able to stand up from the clean, but managed to get in my own head just in time for the jerk.
I took the same weight on my second attempt, this time dead set on avoiding last year's debacle, and thankfully made it with a little shimmy shuffle to the side.

With my plan to take a shot at 165 on my third attempt now foiled from my inability to shake the first attempt jitters, I opted to go for the 160kg (352lb), for a 1 kilo competition PR clean and jerk. I knew I had it in me, and was able to finish strong with the 290kg total...up 3 kilos from my previous best.

Though that national qualifying total still eludes me, it is drawing closer... I am committed to making it happen, even if I need to chip away 1 kilo at a time.

Yet another incredible learning experience this weekend in all facets of the sport. Though there is plenty more work to be done, I had been excited to go into this meet more physically and mentally prepared than I ever have been.
With the arrival back home tonight, it's time to get the eyes right back on the prize. I will pick a meet this spring and take another shot at that 300 total.

Poto diambil sebelum skripsi masih rutin gym. Saat skripsi ga gym krn konsen belajar dan revisian. 4 bulan ga gym krn mengejar biar cepet wisuda. Selama 4 bulan ga gym kilo da naik sehingga badan pon melar, makan mie gomak torus, saksang, karipik pakon gorengan. Lomak ma sude iallang. Nyesel kmrin ga gym 4 bulan padahal bisa kian juga pas skripsian gym seminggu sekali atau 2 kali yg penting jgn berenti biar badannya tetap bagus. Jadi angka dongan yg ingin gym jangan sampai berenti wlwpon pekerjaan menumpuk hanya jam latihannya dikurangi atau harinya dikurangi, biasanya seminggu 4 x jd 2 x atau 1 x. Harus gym lagi. Salam barbel ;)

Squats have been feeling like a flaming pile of 💩 lately so I needed this win for sure. Progress is always progress no matter how small. Squatted 405 at my last meet so this is a great sign.

Today wasnt a lot, but still felt like a grind. Give it up to delayed onset soreness, inadequate rest, and excessive foam rolling before lifting. Just one of those days, but we made it! ✌✌✌

When was the last time you were this pumped about something? The answer should be today.

As a society and in Crossfit we have placed happiness on a moving target. If we just get this PR, if we just get a sub 3 minute Fran, if we just get that raise, if we just get that new car we’d be happy.

Sure. We would be. But for all of 20 minutes until we move the goal post. Happiness on the other side of achievement is short lived.

This week we will give you three challenges on how to become a healthy and happier athlete.

1. Gratitude. You need to recognize what is already in your life.

What you look for, you see more of. Take 10 seconds to count all the red things in the room. Close your eyes. Did you see over 5? Over 10? Over 15? Now, let me know if you can remember 10 things that were blue.

Hard huh? Cause you weren’t looking for blue things. If you look for negative things, you will see negative things. When you see more positivity around you, you will generally be happy. Every day write 3 things you are grateful for. Try not to repeat them this week.

Recognize abundance. What are you grateful for today?

Tuesday arm session, but finished with some deficit deadlifts. Haven’t gone over 500lbs on this but attempted 515..a gym pr, nothing too exciting, just gotta get stronger. One day at a time

Made it through 11 of these snatch complexes at 100kg. (+1 at 95 - math is hard :)
Everything after that is mostly a painful blur with yelling and crying and YouTube and stuff. Pretty sure I saw captain planet wave at me or flick me off (possibly), and coffee was involved...
