Researching for a podcast is serious business, y'all! I'm slated to appear on TWO podcasts this year with @projectionboothpodcast , and each book is a hint. One should be very obvious. The other, you may need to think about a bit.

This Film is one of those Films you watch that catches you off guard with the story and the characters and the drama. You may come across a movie every now and then and glance at it in the beginning but slowly but surely you start to gain interest and are intrigued. This is one of those movies. "Splendor in the Grass" Directed by Elia Kazan. Starring Warren Beatty, Natalie Wood, William Inge, Pat Hingle, Barbara Loden, Audrey Christie, Zohra Lampert. This was Beatty's Film Debut. And just a Great Performance for his first Film. The story is about two high school sweethearts played by Warren Beatty and Natalie Wood who are in love but are pressured by their parents. Warren Beatty plays Bud who's father wants him to go to Yale and have an education but fears that his son will marry and get his girlfriend Wilma pregnant who is played by Natalie Wood who's mother believes that boys especially her boyfriend wouldn't like a girl who is loose and only prefers nice girls. The couple's relationship ends up suffering and Wilma who couldn't bear the emotional pain has a breakdown and her parents eventually send her to a therapist and a hospital for mental health. The couple drifts apart and become distance and lead different lives but one day see each other again. This Film has everything that makes a satisfying Romantic and Dramatic Film. You feel the pain the couple goes through but yet can't help but be Happy seeing them in love. I highly recommend this Film if you have a chance to watch it. I hope you enjoy the review and more importantly I hope you enjoy the Film. #splendorinthegrass #warrenbeatty #nataliewood #eliakazan #williaminge #pathingle #barbaraloden #audreychristie #zohralampert #film #movies

Encouraged by @arpzap who turned me on to Barbara Loden's 1970 film Wanda, I'm posting some of my moments on the road. This is "Killer" who I encountered in Del Rio and was eventually thrown out for misbehaving, not me, him. #delrio #wanda #barbaraloden

While fixing my new studio I’ve been listening to the captivating Dead Blondes episodes of @youmustrememberthis podcast. The podcast on the secret and/or forgotten history of Hollywood’s first century. A podcast for pop-culture lovers like me. @karinalongworth sheds a light on the lives of 11 blonde actresses that died unusual and untimely. In detail she talks about the stories behind the lives of icons such as Jean Harlow, Veronica Lake, Jayne Mansfield, Dorothy Stratten and Marilyn. Stories about sexual exploitation, misunderstood women and feminism in an era and place where there was no room for it. The episode of Barbara Loden is my favorite I think, and now I’m super excited to see Wanda, the movie written and directed by her in which she also played the title role. #youmustrememberthis #karinalongworth #pegentwistle #thelmatodd #jeanharlow #veronicalake #carolelandis #marylinmonroe #jaynemansfield #barbarapayton #gracekelly #barbaraloden #dorothystratten #hollywood #thefutureisfemale

✨Hough nothing can bring back the hour of splendor in the grass, glory in the flower, we will grieve not; rather find strength in what remains behind...✨
