A new study from St. George's Medical School in London, published in the April 2005 issue of Hypertension, compared the blood-pressure-lowering effects of #potassium chloride against the effects of potassium citrate. The results of this study showed that potassium citrate has the same blood-pressure-lowering effect as potassium chloride, which has been proven in the past to lower blood pressure. Potassium chloride, however, must be taken as a dietary supplement, whereas potassium citrate is found naturally in many foods.

The study tested the effects of potassium chloride and potassium citrate on 14 adults with an average starting blood pressure of 151/93, placing them in the category of Stage 1 hypertension. The volunteers were randomly split into two groups; one group was given potassium chloride daily for one week, while the other received potassium citrate. Then, following a one week break, the treatment groups were crossed over and received the opposite treatment for an additional week. While taking potassium chloride, volunteers had an average #bloodpressure of 140/88, and while on potassium citrate, it averaged at 138/88. The difference between the effects of the two types of potassium was not significant, meaning each had similarly beneficial effects on hypertension. "These results support other evidence for an increase in potassium intake and indicate that potassium does not need to be given in the form of chloride to lower blood pressure," write the researchers in their report. "Increasing the consumption of food high in #potassium is likely to have the same effect on blood pressure as potassium chloride." Rather than investing in a new dietary supplement, lowering your bloodpressure may be as easy as watching what you eat. Try some organic #avocados & #bananas 🌱

That’s what I’m Taco-ing about 🌮🐓🔥
What you’ll need:
Cauliflower florets
Portugallo™ Flaming Hot Sauce or your fave Portugallo™ Sauce
Tortillas
Cilantro or Parsley
Guacamole
Ranch dressing
Pico de Gallo
Lemon (optional)
Instructions:
▪️Pre Heat oven at 450 F
▪️Toss Cauliflower florets in oil
▪️Spread them out on a baking sheet and bake for about 20min
▪️In a large bowl, add Portugallo™ Flaming Hot Sauce, or your favourite Portugallo™ Sauce, and toss the Cauliflower florets
▪️Place the Cauliflower florets back in the oven and roast for an additional 20 min or until they are golden brown and crisp
▪️Build your Taco by spreading guacamole, top with Pico de Gallo, Cauliflower florets, Ranch Dressing, Portugallo™ Flaming Hot Sauce for more heat (optional) and Cilantro or Parsley. Squeeze Lemon (optional)

I wanted to try her recipe in a long time and am so happy I finally got to it. It is so delicious. You can find the recipe in her ebook ( link in her profil ). 🌸💕😃✨🍋💫🌤🍨🥑🌱🌟🍍For my version I used one pineapple 🍍 (peeled) instead of a mango, ... and for the filling I forgot the coconut 🌴 oil at the end 😅, but it turned out nicely firm and creamy anyway ... 😁🍍💝🌟💫... and for the cream on top I chose to use only avocado 🥑, coconut oil 🌴, maple 🍁 syrup, lime 🍋 zest, a little bit of lime 🍋 juice, and a pinch of Himalayan salt... and the top creamy layer turned out really deliciously light and delicate ... I needed a dressing for my collard green wraps and I decided I wanted something creamy! I actually just used my @thenutribullet to mix this up! It was an 🥑, plain Greek yogurt, lime juice, salt, pepper, cilantro, and olive oil! 🌱 So yummy I actually starting aggressively dipping and eating a bunch of carrots 🥕😂 it was like a Hidden Valley commercial. .

CHOCOLATE AVOCADO PUDDING RECIPE!!!
.
INGREDIENTS:
- 2-3 ripe avocados 🥑 - 1/2 cup cocoa powder or raw cacao (@giddyyoyo is my FAVE!!) 🍫 - 1/2 cup sweetener of choice 🍯 (I prefer maple syrup or xylitol for this recipe but you could use honey, coconut sugar, stevia, dates, whatever you’ve got!) .
INSTRUCTIONS:
-put all ingredients in a food processor or blend and blend until smooth -I recommend storing it in portioned containers in the freezer...otherwise you may just eat it all!! .
OPTIONS:
I’ve made so many varieties of this recipe so feel free to experiment and add:
-peanut butter -banana (adds natural sweetness)
-coconut milk (full fat) -cinnamon
-vanilla
-mint .
✨NOTE- this is a great recipe for when you’re STARVING a few days before your period. The magnesium in the raw cacao helps with cramps, headaches and constipation, and the avocado’s fat and fibre keep you FULL! Your metabolism increases 5-10% (around 150 extra calories burned) a few days before your period so you can eat this completely guilt free! 💁🏻‍♀️ .
