How long until I begin to see results?!
I get asked this question a lot and sometimes it’s easy to get frustrated with the lack of progress. We eat a piece of lettuce and look to see if we have abs yet😝
— This all depends on how dedicated you are and what frame you’re working with already!🤸🏼‍♀️
— If you have a naturally strong base from running or doing body weight exercises, you’re most likely going to see results faster!
If you’re starting from scratch, it may take a little time BUT – patience is KEY! You didn’t get here over-night…you wont get out of it overnight!
— You’ve all heard the saying that it takes 21 days to make a habit – and while that rings true for many things…it takes much longer to make a LIFESTYLE! This usually takes somewhere around 90 days – so don’t get discouraged ya fancy friend, just keep keepin’ on💃🏼

Btw you guys, I have some EXCITING news to share soon and I’m dying to tell you!
Also, summer shred plans will open up in the first week of april😍💪🏽

We had a gospel-sing out in our local Walmart parking lot today - gettin ready for Easter!🎤🎼

Guys, this is a transformation I have been wanting to share for AWHILE now!
Meet Tiffany Hettinga! I met her years ago and have watched and admired her transformation. Besides being a beautiful Godly woman, ya have to say.. she’s got some grit to make such a huge lifestyle change!

Have you ever googled “How to get a flat stomach”? No? Yes?
Well I get this question A LOT - and it’s NOT by doing a million ab exercises (I see you Linda👀)
So here goes☝🏽
1️⃣ You can’t spot reduce an area. You have to lose overall fat. Don’t sweat it too much (or do lol hallow pun) - I’ve got some answers for ya!
2️⃣ Cardio is great - but will ONLY make you a smaller version of yourself. Weightlifting changes your body composition + build.
3️⃣ Weight lifting burns more calories in the long run + acts like a corset and pulls ya in nice and tight.
4️⃣ Work the largest muscles in your body for maximum caloric expenditure (and gainsss). It starts with Glutes, then back (lats), then legs. (Don’t forget the smaller muscles though.. errbody needs love)
5️⃣ DRANK. If you are even slightly dehydrated - you are holding extra water weight. Sounds counterintuitive - I know🤷🏼‍♀️. Drinking enough water will allow your body to release the excess water it has been storing.
6️⃣ Get yo’ gut right. Probiotics, prebiotics, all that good stuff. I drink 2 cups of water first thing in the morning with ACV in it. SO REFRESHING.
7️⃣ Get enough sleep, eat enough to aid muscle gain, stop stressin so much over the process. That’s why it’s called a process. Stop using the scale to count your victories (water weight + so many other factors can make this change like 5+lbs a day) and start using measurements and how you feel + look. Kay. Stop the scale obsession.
8️⃣ Fiber... we know what that means😏
Remember the process. Things don’t happen overnight. Don’t get frustrated - get motivated💪🏽

Don’t be afraid to let things fall by the wayside to go after Gods will! Our natural desires can oftentimes get in the way of what Gods desires & thoughts are toward us.
People will come and go, there will always be someone who let you down. Heartbreak will come and leave, situations may leave you feeling down and out - but just being plain ol’ Jane over here...that’s life!
We don’t get to places of understanding by never dealing with anything we don’t understand. If we understood everything in every moment of life, we would never need faith.
It takes time. Give your all - withholding nothing.

So my last post included a hoodie I’m obsessed with - but I have been DYING to bring you THIS hoodie!
If you’ve noticed by now, I love a good crop-top to pair with a high-waisted skirt. This is one of the most comfy & stylish ones I have come across, and it happens to be from an apostolic business called @rayxrae (Go give them a follow, seriously the most bomb clothes!)
I saw this one awhile back and knew I needed it! It’s perfect to workout in (swipe), especially since this chill just doesn’t seem to be going away - and it helps me break out a good sweat. And mind you - it’s ADORABLE!
What is a trick you use to get yourself going when it’s cold outside?!

The ULTIMATE high-waisted black skirt!
Happy Saturday Fam!
It is a BEAUTIFUL day here in Tampa FL, and today I am sharing my most worn skirt on the blog!

Today I got a few school assignments done, took our new doggo (swipe) on a walk, and plan on cozying up with my book at some point!

Sometimes all it comes down to is TRYING!

I remember the first time I walked into a gym by myself. I was there because I was tired of living in a cycle - and never seeing the results I wanted (isn’t that called insanity?🙈).
I walked in knowing NOTHING about putting a routine together. I went in everyday and just worked machines I was comfortable with, usually resulting in a full body workout
I was self-conscious, nervous and uncomfortable! I wouldn’t make eye contact with people because I was scared they would know just how LITTLE I knew about what I was doing!
Eventually I found my way within a few weeks, and through research, I learned patterns to follow. But the point is - I tried!
Sure I could have failed! But I tried with determination... and that’s something that I’ll now have for the rest of my life!
All it takes is a moment of faith in yourself ☀️

Why we get sore after we workout!💪🏽
A common misconception is that we have lactic acid built up in our muscles...
FALSE - lactic acid typically leaves our muscles within an hour after working out!
It’s actually small tears in our muscles on a cellular level that creates delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) which starts around 12 hours after the workout and peaks from 48-72 hours!
There are ways to minimize the DOMS (sounds cool to say... you know it does😏)
So how do you help minimize your muscle soreness?💪🏽🙌🏼
