13% of the American population is made up of African Americans and yet 39% of people who didn’t attack the police where African American and when you compare that to 63% of America’s population which is white and yet only 46% of people shot when not attacking the police where white Americans. Are these statistics really fair? 13% to 39% for African Americans and 63% to 46%. Why should African Americans have to fear the police whilst white Americans feel safe? Shouldn’t everyone feel safe? Is this fair? #policebrutality #isthisfair #africanamericanrights #africanamerican #americanrights #spreadtgeword

CAN YOU OR YOUR CHILDREN TELL ME WHO THIS MAN IS ON MY SHIRT IS???? Died Feb 20th.... "I would unite with anybody to do right and with nobody to do wrong."Frederick Douglas He spoke and wrote on behalf of a variety of reform causes: women's rights, temperance, peace, land reform, free public education, and the abolition of capital punishment. But he devoted the bulk of his time, immense talent, and boundless energy to ending slavery and gaining equal rights for African Americans. #FrederickDouglass #africanamericanrights #womenright #educated #writer #freedom #headingtoseeblackpanter #blackpanther Panther

F E B 2 • Angela Davis• The Queen✊🏾 Non-conformist, non-apologetic Black Power/Black feminism activist Angela Davis is a well-traveled, well-studied liberated feminist, civil rights activist, gay rights activist, abolitionist, communist, author, speaker & Doctor of Philosophy
Founder of Critical Resistance: focused on abolishing the prison-industrial complex, Founder of Committees of Correspondence for Democracy and Socialism, Co-founder of the Black feminist alliance African American Agenda 2000
After obtaining her PhD in the 60’s, she began a tumultuous career at UCLA where she was fired twice (for Communist philosophy & blunt speech) by the Board of Regents, once directly under orders by then-Gov. Ronald Reagan.
For many years, she was the UC Santa Cruz Director of Feminist Studies and a professor in the History of Consciousness Department.
From 1969-1991 she was a member of the Communist Party USA and twice a candidate for Vice President (of CPUSA)
In 1971, due to her support of the Soledad Brothers & affiliation with the weapons used to take over a California courtroom (resulting in several deaths, including a judge) she was arrested for aggravated kidnapping and first degree murder.
She was on J Edgar Hoover’s FBI Ten Most Wanted Fugative List, one of only 39 women to appear on the List.
After 16 months of incarceration, media attention, dedicated songs by Rolling Stones, John Lenin x Yoko Ono, Bob Dylan, Todd Cochran & Virgilio Savona, 200 local committees & 67 foreign working to free her from prison, she was released on bail, her case was transferred to Santa Clara County & then received a not guilty verdict at prosecution.
At 74yo, she’s retired as a teacher, but still an active member of Committees of Correspondence for Democracy and Socialism.
There’s plenty to read about her out there, but I recommend her Self-titled autobiography. It’s avail on Amazon, Audible, & your local library people!! #blackhistorymonth #febisforfreedom #blackpower #byanymeansnecessary #ucsantacruz #radicalfeminism #gayrights #womensrights #africanamericanrights #civilrights #woman #teacher #author #femalewriters #publicspeaker #publicspeaking

Went to this amazing exhibit yesterday @oregonhistoricalsociety. It was so well done and I feel so much more humbled by the struggles and strength of African Americans. I think the most emotional moment was listening to an older African American lady tell her young companion what she experienced. I definitely cried a bit. When we are officially moved I am going back to see this exhibit.
