In this pic of me I thought my skin looked so bad. Acne scars, dull complexion and pale.... I thought my skin couldn't get worse... I really don't know what happened but it got so much worse and I took this skin for granted. I will never take clear skin for granted again. And I know it could be worse than it is now. It just sucks, even knowing that it could be worse, that my skin is how it is right now. It's hard not to be sad about. 👌🏼Yay for Monday’s with berry yogurt toast!🍓🍞 I have a few calls today and I wanted to make sure I was fully energized for the day! My skin today ): I just got back from being outside and last night I picked at it (working on not doing that but I get so obsessive over it) so it's really red and irritated. Sometimes when I don't look at myself I forget what my skin looks like and then I look at myself and remember and it just makes me so so sad. I used to have confidence, at least with how my face looked and I wasn't shy of meeting people and making friends and speaking up. But now I walk through the streets with my head down and I don't make eye contact with people and it's hard to meet new people and make new friends because I'm not confident and I'm not myself. I feel so hopeless and trapped. I can't wait to start accutane. I know it will be a long hard journey but I'm so depressed right now. People don't understand how horrible acne truly is and how much it can ruin who you are/ how you see yourself and even how others see you sometimes. This is me today. I don't eat dairy and minimal gluten but tbh since I've started doing that my skin has only gotten worse. I think the MAIN trigger for me is stress and high GI foods. It just sucks because I suffer with anxiety and the acne only makes my anxiety and stress worse which makes it a cycle and then all the sudden I'm broken out all over my face. Acne has ruined my social life, my confidence, my and self esteem. I want to be able to go out in public without fearing that everyone is looking at my face. I want to not have to worry about my skin 24/7. My skin is so uncomfortable, it's already dry and tight without accutane so I'm scared about that side effect. But it's hurts and it's a gravelly texture, I hate touching it when I have to moisturize and honestly I feel like make up only makes it look worse bc you can see every blemish under my skin. WHAT DOES ACNE MEAN ?? So I have come across many different images about what does acne represent and each image proves to state something different. But this first image seems to resemble me and my acne. As everytime I get my period I start to break out around my chin\jaw line. When I have dairy such as chocolate, cheese yoghurt my cheeks blow up with acne and I’m left with scars. ➖➖Im wondering if this follows anyone else ? Are you getting enough protein at breakfast...?

Protein is important for keeping our blood sugars balanced and so many of us aren’t getting enough at the right times of the day, or not getting enough full stop!

Common modern day ‘healthy’ breakfasts like muesli or granola with almond milk are all high in carbs, pretty low in fat and virtually void of any protein meaning that you’re starting the day off with unhappy blood sugars and you’ll be reaching for the snacks mid-morning. To keep your blood sugars stable till lunch you ideally want fat and protein to be the dominant nutrients.

Low protein diets, over time, can also lead to a deficiency in stomach acid which causes digestive issues and bile stagnation which puts a burden on our liver, meaning we can’t eliminate toxins and excess hormones as efficiently...spelling MORE bad news for our skin!

As much as I would love to have eggs and sautéed veggies for breakfast everyday, I’m rushing around way too much to get my act together so I pretty much always throw together a high fat protein smoothie with a scoop of vegan protein powder in a base of high fat coconut milk or A2 milk and melted cocoa butter or grass-fed butter. This keeps me happy (mainly because it tastes like pudding) and my hormones nice and steady throughout the morning so I’m not craving junk at 10am.

🍂🎃Looking for a creamy delicious side dish for thanksgiving or just some fall comfort foods.. look no further than this cheesy broccoli quinoa casserole using some of my favorite milk from @milkadamia #ad
* 1 large baking potato about 1 lb., peeled and diced
* 1/2 cup chopped carrots 1 large
* 2 tbsp. olive oil
* 1 large onion diced
* 2 garlic cloves minced
* 12 oz. button mushrooms cleaned, stemmed and coarsely chopped
* 2 cups vegetable broth
* 1/2 cup quinoa * 1 large broccoli crown broken into small florets (about 4 cups)
* 1/2 cup nutritional yeast flakes
* 1/4 cup lemon juice
* 2-3 tsp. white miso paste
* about 2 cups @milkadamia * salt and pepper to taste

1. Place potato and carrots into a medium saucepan and cover with water. Bring to a boil. Lower heat and allow to cook at a low boil until tender, about 15 to 20 minutes. Remove from heat and drain into a colander. Transfer to a food processor and blend until completely smooth, stopping to scrape down sides of bowl as needed.
2. Coat the bottom of a large pot with oil and place over medium heat. Add onion and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes. Add garlic and cook 1 minute more. Add mushrooms, in as even a layer as possible, and allow to cook until slightly browned, about 5 minutes.
3. Add broth and rice to pot. Stir to incorporate. Raise heat and bring to a simmer. Cover and allow to simmer until rice is fully cooked, about 45 minutes. There should be some liquid remaining in the pot when rice is finished cooking.
4. Uncover pot and stir in potato mixture, broccoli, nutritional yeast, lemon juice and miso, if using. Thin with about 2 cups of milk, using a bit less if mixture seems too thin, more if it seems too thick. Stir and bring to a low simmer. Cook just until broccoli is tender and bright green, about 3 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Serve.🙌🏼✨

DIY Facial Scrub:

1/4 Coconut Oil
1 TBSP Baking Soda
4-5 Drops of Lavender Essential Oil
4-5 Drops of Lemon Essential Oil
4-5 Drops of Frankincense Essential Oil

Wash Face with facial scrub and pat dry.
