Wentworth Falls on a very cloudy spring day. Still an amazing sight even if it did keep disappearing into the clouds.🌥🇦🇺

The three sisters at Katoomba in the Blue Mountains National Park near Sydney. Great drive out today though a little unfortunate that there was a lot of low cloud and drizzle, but I still got a glimpse of what a spectacular view it is on a clear day.

I had one of the greatest privileges of my short life on Friday, being granted invitation to the private ceremony as our country's oldest human remains returned home to country at Lake Mungo in outback NSW. An immensely moving day of funeral undertone, but of speeches and embraces that sung of defiance, relief, respect, and overwhelmingly of pride.
And the Barkinji, Ngyaimpa, and Muthi Muthi people of the Willandra Lakes region have so incredibly much to be proud of. Their sibling like respect, their love of their beautiful land and culture was a profoundly warming environment to be welcomed into, particularly as a young Australian of passionate respect and interest in the cultures of our traditional custodians.
I think a pride in this is so important friends - these are the book-end remains of the human story, returning to spiritual peace in the place and presence of their people alive in health today. It's stuff that makes you want to hear that voice with the wind..
Bravo all involved, the #mungoman is home.

Did you know that the area surrounding Lake Jualbup was originally known as Jualbup, an Aboriginal term meaning ‘a place where water rises in the season of spring’. It was a favourite gathering place for the Aboriginal people. Later it was renamed Shenton Park Lake, after the land developer George Shenton. The Aboriginal name ‘Jualbup’ was restored to the lake in 1996.

Tonight's phone call is bringing back flashbacks of my first indigenous placement, just I'ver two years ago. I miss you, beautiful girl. Hope you're shining like a star out there in the world.

“Ocean Knights”
This artwork was a commission piece. It’s an aerial view of Newcastle.
I really enjoy the aerial artworks that I have been doing, this is now the fourth piece I have done, looking forward to doing more 🔴😊⚫️.

‘I’m fortunate to live in Australia because I’m able to get some money from the government as an old age pensioner. I appreciate that very much and I’ve got a place to live which is provided by Housing NSW, so I’m grateful for that too. ‘I like to attend different gatherings in Redfern, helping with activist groups, marching through the city for different reasons like to stop the war. My biggest social concerns are the human rights of Aboriginal people in Australia. It’s a disgrace how they have been treated in their own country. ‘I’ve taught up to a thousand Aboriginal children through Montessori education. I find it’s one of my joys to have been able to teach children for 20 years as a volunteer. ‘I once thought that “once a Catholic, always a Catholic.” That was a big thing in my upbringing. I wanted to be a nun when I was younger and I’m amazed with how I’ve changed through life experiences and having a child. Some of the happiest times of my life have been with my son who’s in his fifties now. I see him often, and the grandchildren. I’m very fortunate and I’m pleased to still be alive at the age of eighty two.’ - Barbara #lentilasanything #lentilasanythingsydney #humansoflentils #humansofnewtown #innerwestsydney #newtown #aboriginal #humanrights #film #filmisnotdead #filmisgood
