Josh McDonald of Redbird Rants had a very good point in his article today. He made the point that sure, there is talent on the board this offseason but 2019 is where we should be looking at. Instead of signing someone to a crazy big contract, trade for a cheap good player like Yelich and sign a guy like Holland to make the team better for 2018 but wait for the offseason 18/19 to sign someone to a big contract. Next offseason guys like Harper and Machado will be available... game changers. Don’t sign Hosmer to a crazy contract or trade away all of your prospects for an aging Donaldson, but wait. Wait for the Slugger, Gold Glover, MVP-Caliber Machado who will only be 27 in 2019. Do you agree?

My boy Kurt scored this rare clean shot of the Private Dugout Club @ Miami Stadium. While commonplace today, a private club inside a stadium / ballpark / arena was unheard of back in 1949 when this was built. Tennessee-based architectural firm Marr and Holman were def ahead of their time with both design and concept #miamistadium #private #dugoutclub #vip #cool #clean #modern #design #305 #architecture #ballpark #stadium #tbt #miami #history #bar #lounge #drinks #cheers #oldschool #baseball #mlb #milb #minorleague #dodgers #losdoyers #orioles #marlins #miamimarlins #blackandwhite

From the private stash Summer 2001 right before demolition @ Miami Stadium. I was perched atop the platform between the towers in left/center providing a clear shot of the wild growth on the playing field along with the blue monster in center, light towers and worn down scoreboard in RF. The grey buildings in the background are still there. For decades that was the site of the old Seaboard Airline Train Station. By 1980 the station was demolished (only the partico remains) and these buildings built served as the South Florida Evaluation and Treatment Center. The Center closed in 2008 but is set to reopen for use once again #miamistadium #history #allapattah #throwback #abandoned #stadium #baseball #urban #urbex #architecture #graffiti #street #streetphotography #2001 #bobbymaduro #bobbymadurostadium #orioles #dodgers #losdoyers #marlins #miami #305 #mlb #springtraining #oldschool #memories #respect
