Sometimes, unfortunately, it takes some sad news to remind you of a photo that you've taken. I recently posted about a guy called Timmy that I know from Naivasha, Kenya. I've just been speaking with him. He just told me that two of his friends have been attacked by hippo's in a small lake next to Lake Naivasha. The little lake is called Oloiden. One guy had terrible wounds to his legs and the other guy has had to have his legs amputated.
Now let's go back to this photo. This was taken in that exact lake. I rode my bike to the lake (approx 10km from my camp) and then went around the lake on a longboat with a guide for an hour or so. I was seeing hippo's left right and centre. But look at these guy's, up their waist in water where hippo's freely roam. These guy's are just fending for themselves and their families and fishing like this on a daily basis but it's sad that they have to go to such dangers to survive. I mean look, they have giraffe in the background, various other animals freely roaming around....These guys live WITH the animals. I sit here now wondering whether it was these guy's that got attacked or whether their time will come in the near future. Put's things into persective right? 💗💚💛 #Naivasha #Oloiden #Kenya #Hippo #Tragic #Nature #Lake #Roadtrip #Safari #Accident #Fishing #Netfishing #Culture #Survival
