This side plank twist is a good core and oblique exercise if you can perform it correctly 👍🏽

- Keep your elbow below your shoulder - Back neutral and chest out
- Keep hips up and squeeze glutes
- Twist using your obliques and engage them throughout the movement
- Do as many as you can each side so you can see what side is weakest, which can effect your main compound lifts 😉

Today is shoulders and arms... This is actually the first time in months I've done shoulders with arms but this is just how it's landed when listening to my body to decide what to train rather than jotting something down and sticking to it regardless... Today just started of with shoulder press sets of 8 reps until reps fell below 5 reps... Then just 4 sets of curls 6 - 8 reps alternating grip each set.. Then 4 sets of weighted tricep Dips up to 8 reps keeping body upright with narrow handles to focus on tris!
Try this full version of a burpee 😉 -

Go as low as you can.. bringing your body to the floor and pressing back up, and jumping as high as you can 💪🏽

Deadlift is going up and up 👌🏽180kg for 2

The program is going well, I would 100% recommend the program if you want to get stronger 💪🏽💪🏽 I've gone up about 12.5kg in the past 4 weeks on my squat and deadlift so pleased with that 😁👈🏽 -

Next week I'm hitting 1s so I'll try 190kg deadlift and 145 squat 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽

Yesterday I was reading; The Healing Self by Deepak Chopra and he talks about how “worry is based in un-ease and is just a stones throw away from DIS-EASE” WOW RIGHT???

He goes onto say how “conditions such as asthma & psoriasis/eczema can be improved by positive feelings and worsened by stress, depression and anxiety”

Whether you believe this or not it is something to reflect on. I invite you to journal how your physical body is feeling when you are happy and stress free and then again when the opposite happens. .

I know first hand how stress, depression and anxiety can effect me. A few years back I was completely run down with so much stress I could hardly keep it together...that manifested in 7 tumors in my body which one was in my maxillary cavity and had to be removed. When I asked the dr why? All he said was “we can only attribute this to stress” WHAT??? Really? No way.... for the last 10 years I’ve been healing and r covering from the effects of that surgery and all the meds that poisoned my system and ripped apart my gut. BUT the one thing I truly try to do is keep my stress levels in control because I know that what happens to my body is a direct correlation to how I’m feeling mentally and emotionally. .

Here are some of my stress reducing rituals: let me know what are some of yours. .

1) meditate in the morning
2) ground myself in nature
3) connect with like minded people
4) take a drive on the PCH
5) laugh .

Easy medicine that heals more that you realize.

That was hella painful 😫 BUT it’s done... whoop! Never had as much pain in my calves before but I kept jogging though it and the pain went away as soon as I finished my run so glad I kept going 💪🏼 rest day tomorrow and back at it again on Wednesday. I’ll be adding compound exercises to the days I won’t be running next week. Hope you’ve all had a great start to the week 👍🏼

Try this core exercise out 💪🏽 -

You can have the cable at the bottom, the middle like I have or at the top... this is how to perform this exercise
- keep feet about shoulder width
- when you twist, twist with your abs and core keeping them engaged throughout the whole movement (and not with shoulders or hips)
- if you twist to the right have your left hand on the handle and right over the top and vise versa

Today is mindful Monday! We are making the sovereign choice to set goals for the week. No matter where you are in life, there is always room to grow. When goal setting we want to start with where we are today and what we can do now tontake us one step forward focusing on continuous improvement. If you are already committed to working out, you may want to change up your routine to make it slightly more challenging this week than last week. If you already have a healthy diet, you may want to try new recipes and superfoods this week to build your repertoire of healthy meals. If you already have a practice that increases your sense of well being, you may want to study new ideas or learn other ways to destress, stay present and enhance spirituality. The point is we all have areas where we can improve, and goal setting and listing out our priorities is one of the key ways to doing that. What are some things you would like to accomplish? What are some things that will make you proud to get completed? What are some topics you've been meaning to explore? What has been on your mind that you want to take action on? Write it down. Set 3 goals to get dome by the end of this week. One of the hardest things for me is pull ups 👈🏽 so the best way to get better at pull ups is to do pull ups!
- with a resistance band to add more reps in
- do negatives
- add weight to yourself like a dumbbell or belt
- and as always a progressive program so for example 10 pulls 3 times a week, next week 13 pull ups 3 times a week and so on 😉 -

Even harder when you do them after 5/6 sets of deadlifts then another 4/5 sets of rows your forearms then pull ups and there just burnt out 😵 -

Getting in some higher rep work 💪🏽 when performing this seated row you can't really use momentum as you can when standing rows or machine rows... This would be all back and arms doing the work 💪🏽👍🏽👈🏽 but sometimes good to get in a chest set 😉
