Have a clear mind "God is not a God of confusion but of clarity"
We are all in the lion's den... Resist evil.

Stand firm in what is good.

Suffering is not only personal, but also collective.
Suffering doesn't last forever.
God owns grace.
He calls us to his goodness and glory in Christ.
He will restore.
He will heal.

He will confirm.
He will affirm.
He will establish.
He will build.

Silence the haters with your goodness! By doing the will of God, we show the world our King! Don't just say you love Jesus, but SHOW that you love Jesus by walking as he walked and loving humanity with a love so deep, that it's hard to comprehend at times. His love is the KEY to reaching broken human hearts!! 💯💯💯🔥🔥🔥 #dogood

In the past week I have started on some sermon prep that has seriously convicted me of my lack of continuing in sermon prep even when I don’t know when I’m preaching.

While reading, writing, and studying I am reminded of my calling. I’ve tried for a good long while a different approach, almost a beginners approach to walking with God and He keeps reminding me that while we go thru seasons with Him, the past is never undone. The things we have learned, endured, and think we have forgotten, are still there, we just need to seek His face and presence with a passion and desperation daily, as if we are a new Christian, learning things for the first time without actually trying to ‘start over’. We must daily “taste and see that the Lord is good” while remembering all that He has already done.
In this extended season of transition I must remember that Gods plans and desires for my life are far greater than my own and He knows EXACTLY what it takes to refine me into the imagine of His Son Jesus.

Even amidst difficulties, trials, and disappointments in this life, I am truly blessed.
In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

He did not retaliate when he was insulted, nor threaten revenge when he suffered. He left his case in the hands of God, who always judges fairly.
1 Peter‬ ‭2‬:‭23‬ ••
When someone is rude to me, or does me wrong I have the biggest urge to just do the same thing right back to them. I speak poorly of them and think even worse of them.
What I find amazing is that Jesus suffered so much worse than I did. He was called names more often than I am. And not once did he retaliate. Not once did he seek revenge. He trusted His father and knew that those who spoke poorly would be judged accordingly, and it was not His place to do so.
I encourage you today, choose silence over retaliation, respond and don’t react. Even when it’s hard, even when people push your buttons, take after Jesus and hand your case to God! xo

Whose adorning, let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; but let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.

1 Peter 1:23 For you have been born again not of seed that is imperishable, that is through the living and enduring word of God.

Gentleness and a quiet spirit is most precious to our Father God! Don't let the world fool into thinking that you are a square! Remember that the Lord has started a work in you and He is faithful to finish it, which may mean that your old self is coming to pass and a New you is flourishing! #morningword #theword262 #morningdevotional #jesuschristisking #1peter #jesusiscalling #gentle #charm #beautywithin

1 Peter 2:9 has become even more special with the additional note at the bottom! When I miss hearing my mom's voice and her words of love and encouragement, it does not get any better than receiving a double dose. Love that I see traces of my mom's notes within the Bible I received from my alumni upon my day of graduation. 💕

And humans are like grass.
Our words fail.
Our words fade.
Our words are forgotten.
They don't last!
God's Word lasts forever. His declaration that Jesus paid for our sins is true yesterday, today and forever! #GatherToTheGarden #1Peter #Raleigh #RaleighNC #Monday #MondayMotivation #MondayEncouragement
