Grain Free Peanut Butter Brownie
1-15 oz. can black beans drained and rinsed
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1/3 cup granulated sugar whatever kind you like, coconut, organic cane sugar
1/4 cup olive or coconut oil
1/4 cup unflavored almond milk
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. Sea salt
2 tbsp. creamy natural peanut butter or more, if you like
1/4 cup semi sweet or vegan chocolate chips

Blend all ingredients except the chocolate chips and peanut butter in a food processor until smooth.
Grease a pan with a 1/8 tsp oil and preheat over at 350.

Pour brownie batter into the pan.
Spread batter evenly into prepared pan. Distribute a few dollops of peanut butter on the top of batter and swirl with a knife or chopstick.
Sprinkle with chocolate chips.

Bake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, about 22-24 minutes.

Remove from oven and transfer to a cooling rack. Allow to cool completely before cutting.

Cut into squares and serve. Enjoy!

Our last day in Hawaii 🐠

We come home on a red eye tonight and are sad to leave but also missing the comforts of home. Fraser has a cold and persistent cough that sent us to the clinic this morning to make sure he was ok to travel but he rebounded by the afternoon and was able to hit the beach and ride in the outrigger with us. I will miss the beautiful water and friendly people here and can’t wait to get back soon!

We hiked up Diamond Head Crater this morning with the boys!! So proud of them both: Asher for hiking the whole trail and Fraser for not whining once! I carried him up and goes carried him down but he was such a trooper and absolutely loved it!! 🌸🌴🌋 Asher has been learning about land forms at school and his homework for vacation was a landforms worksheet so this trek was a great deal life learning for him! 🌋🏝

Breakfast on Waikiki Beach this morning was amazing. The best Açai bowl I’ve had with Mac but granola 🙌🏻 Today we will be heading to #sealifepark and the boys will kiss the dolphins and experience their first #luau!

Got a quick leg & booty workout in this morning before a long day of travel. I was feeling a tad stressed this morning having Fraser wake up with a cough and runny nose so taking a little me time to workout this morning was so needed and I felt so much better afterwards.
I’m loving these bands we are using in this new program I’m doing and I brought them along with me to use while we are away. Thought I’d share the video so you can see the kinds of moves you can expect when this workout officially comes out in January!! Can’t wait 💜

What started out as a simple cauliflower pizza crust that needed toppings, turned into the most wonderful fall flavoured pizza!
I’m cleaning out the fridge before we leave for holidays looking for toppings for my cauliflower crust pizza when I came upon some organic sage I had intended to make Crispy Sage with 🙌🏻 Inspiration struck and onto the crust went: Goat cheese, sliced apple, dates, white cheddar cheese and crispy sage!
I wasn’t sure if it would all work well together but I have it a shot and WOW it was so tasty!! Now that I’m fed, I’m ready to keep going with the packing! We leave for Hawaii tomorrow but it will be a long day of travel with the boys.
What is your fav thing about travelling?? I love that it gives me time to delete and organize ALL the photos on my phone 📱 as you can imagine I take a lot of photos for my biz! So so many lol but I’ve always taken a lot, now I just get to do it for a reason and get paid for it! 🤓

So I’m gonna put this out there cause it’s something that has resonated with me. Scrap the whole 80/20 rule and instead make rules for yourself. If you follow a loose 80/20 rule it’s actually a bit tricky because when you are faced with a decision like whether to get a treat at Starbucks today or not it’s actually pretty hard to decide whether it’s within your 20% for the week or day... But if you create rules for yourself like “I will only eat chocolate on weekends” or “I will always have a glass water with every meal” it actually becomes very simple to decide what to do when your faced with temptations.
20% is not hard and fast, though it sounds good doesn’t it?
The 80/20 rules leaves so much room for error and I know for myself it can be hard to know when I’ve reached that limit and then I’m just hard on myself when I know I’ve had a few too many treats or cheats.

Don’t be so hard on yourself, and stop putting yourself in the position to make difficult choices.
Instead write down a few food rules you will make for yourself.
One I’ve come up with for myself is I’ll only eat grains on the weekends. Nothing wrong with grains but I find that I eat so many more veggies when grains aren’t in the picture. I still eat healthy carbs daily but no grains helps me to include more variety in our meals.

I also know that I dont drink enough water in the fall and winter so my new rule is that I will drink a glass of water with every meal.

I’m working on more of these rules but for now I like where this is taking me and mentally it’s easier that making choices in the moment and then beating myself up for it later. I don’t believe in being 100% strict all the time but it’s so easy to get off track when your in maintenance mode or not being strict.

Part of why I wake up early is so that I get 10 minutes alone with my cup of coffee post workout before everyone wakes up. It’s bliss ✨☕️ and worth dragging myself out of bed for 🛌

However this morning was another story... half way through my yoga flow someone came out of his room.... he kept chattering away to me while I flowed and then went to get his Ipad from our room 👋🏻 Before I knew it both Gord and Asher were up and movin and my 10 minutes of QUIET were gone 😫
To top it off.... Gord thought it was OK to try to snag my Mug of Coffee ☠️ Lesson for men: don’t snag a moms most precious quiet time and then try to take her coffee as well ☕️ you may not survive the day 😜

I believe that Home should be the healthiest place. This New Program that came out yesterday can only be done with a partner & was designed with parents and kids in mind to bring health to the home in a fun way! 👩‍👦Bonding time

Gord and I pressed play on the first workout in the program and I was surprised at what a GOOD workout we got! Legs burning 🔥, sweat dripping 💦

I firmly believe that workouts should be fun and a partner workout like this is the perfect motivator.
Tag someone who you would partner up with for this workout! OR if you would do it with your kid tell me how old they are below!

We are going to fight through temptations together over the next 2 months. We are going to ENJOY festivities with no guilt together, and then get back on track TOGETHER! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Your decisions got you where you are right now at this point in your life so if you aren’t happy with where you are your decisions are the only thing that can change things 🙌🏻

If you focus on results you will never change, if you focus on change you will get results.
Results come and go so for me it’s about a healthy lifestyle, balance and confidence. I’m so much more than my body.
A healthy lifestyle is less about my exterior appearance and more about my inner body. It’s crazy how processed foods and excess sugar can effect the body’s digestion, focus, energy levels and so much more.
The ladies in my accountability group are working to cut out processed foods and workout at home daily along side me and that keeps me accountable. Without my virtual fit community I wouldn’t be as consistent, and I surely would not get up at 5am to fit in my workout on Halloween 🎃👻 They inspire me daily to be my best self and I’m so grateful I’ve found a system that works well for me. Because with our busy life I don’t have the time to leave the house to workout. Our home is the healthiest place and that is just how I like it.
