this little firecracker turned THREE today. three trips around the sun - quicker than I could blink my eyes. to say our world got a little faster on the day he came speeding out would be an understatement. he dives in head first with his fearlessness. he loves and admires his big brother dearly and wants to be just like him. he’s the sweetest, silliest little big kid I know. happy birthday Orin!!! πŸ’₯πŸ’«πŸŒž#cheesefaceforever
yesterday from the climbing gym with his bff from school. (she's the one at the tippy top!) πŸ€ΈπŸ»β€β™‚οΈπŸ€™
the prettiest patch of nasturtiums at the neighborhood community garden. why can I never achieve such great results with nasturtiums is beyond me. πŸ€” #gottwoflowersthisyear
sent these two off to their first day of school today. Wolf was really excited about being a first grader and Orin was super pumped to be in a new classroom at preschool. and me? I'm excited because finally my house is quiet. 😜 #wolfandorin
I've felt like I've been punched in the gut today over the sadness I have for the Columbia River Gorge. a giant fire is roaring along the riverside through Oregon and Washington, incinerating old growth forest in it’s path. like many Oregonians, the Gorge is so dear to me. we’ve walked many miles on the trails through the Gorge and even got married there. many epic landmarks completely destroyed or forever changed: Eagle Creek, Oneonta Tunnel, Multnomah Falls and more. and what’s worse is this catastrophic damage is because of a thoughtless, careless, idiotic act.
I keep coming back to the photos in disbelief. this photo is one I took eight years ago from Angel’s Rest. thinking of the memories I’ve made in The Gorge, I've been caught in a place between absolute anger and complete devastation over this. it’s hard to be mad at nature when fires are burning all around us are due to lightning strikes. but when it's human caused, by two careless teenagers flinging fireworks off a 200ft cliff, I think it's only fair to feel pissed. but realistically at this point, the heartache wins. #eaglecreekfire

one of the pieces of quartz I pocketed. we'll probably tumble a few but I love the raw natural look of it.
check my stories for a few more pics!

I guess you could say I'm a natural collector. one thing leads to the next and suddenly I've got a new collection. like these feathers I've suddenly amassed from our recent trip to Idaho. aren't they pretty? I especially love those peachy feathers from the northern flicker. πŸ’•

do you collect anything?
walks around Grandma & Grandpa's property with this one include rock skipping, feather hunting and flower finding. πŸ‘Œβœ¨
