Four months with this sweet one and now that we're out of the fourth trimester I'm intent on prioritising my wellbeing (otherwise everything falls apart). After 4 pregnancies and over 6 years of breastfeeding (and counting) I know exactly what my body needs to stay healthy. A decent-ish amount of sleep, loads of vegies, plenty of water, a bit of Vitamin D and a dose of probiotics is basically my daily go-to regime. I was particularly disciplined with my probiotic intake during pregnancy because good gut health is so important for overall immunity (for me and baby), it helps maintain healthy vaginal flora and it's also known to lessen the likelihood of childhood eczema of which my children are particularly prone. I've been taking for Pregnancy and Breastfeeding since I fell pregnant with Marigold (I was taking them in Bali when I conceived, too, as they're one of the only probiotics that don't need to be refrigerated). Right now they're boosting my immunity (despite my new-mum weariness) and keeping any signs of mastitis at bay. #yourhealthistheirhealth #pregnancyprobiotics #wellbeing #babybiotics #ad 🌿

Kangaroo Paw grew through the fence so I thought it best to bring it inside. Bought myself a new dress for Christmas Day. Don't have an advent calendar. Haven't wrapped any presents. Choosing simple and easy over stressy perfection. It's the only way. More #ontheblog

I've spent the last few days perfecting the ballet bun and ushering my tiny dancer onto the stage. If you've never been backstage at a dance concert let me paint a picture for you: a rainbow of lycra and tulle, plumes of hairspray and the slickest gelled-back buns you've ever seen. There's snacks (so many snacks), colouring-in books and ipads, glitter and lipstick and more bobbypins than you can imagine. But perhaps what is most lovely about it all is the village of mums who come together to make sure that every little girl and boy is encouraged, prepped and ready to dance their little hearts out on the stage. And when a flurry of dancers run into the change rooms to prepare for the next dance, they're met by a plethora of helpers who change stockings, leotards, hairstyles and shoes within minutes. It was quite lovely to be a part of it all. Thanks for making my heart swell, Poet. And if anyone needs a Belle from Beauty & the Beast costume, you know where to come 💛

Che took Marigold into his classroom last week to chat about what it's like to have a baby in the house. One of his classmates spoke about the many babies and toddlers her parents have fostered over the years. "We always have the cot set up and ready," she said. Her family is one of many who care for the 20,000 vulnerable children currently in foster care across NSW (it's estimated that there are 45K children in care across Australia). Of course, there is always a need for more people to open their hearts and their homes to kids who need it most. @fosteringnsw are encouraging singles, couples and families who are interested in learning more about foster care to register their interest at 🌿#ad

Late spring days. So much going on but the daily rhythm of home keeps me grounded. Hanging washing under the Jacaranda Tree isn't all bad, either. More #ontheblog 🌿

Chopped off my hair before it all falls out anyway (goodbye lustrous pregnancy locks). Now to find my core strength (if it still exists) and summon up some energy for exercise. But my goodness, the end-of-year weariness has well and truly hit. Anyone else exhausted? 😴 And does this even make sense? 🤷🏻‍♀️

I wrote a gift guide last week for those of you wanting simple toys that inspire deep, engaged play (direct link 👆🏻). But silly me forgot to include the wooden rainbow which becomes the foundation for many different play scenes in our home - river, mountain, road, fence, tunnel, house, tower and cave. This beautiful pastel 🌈 and the delightful wooden animals are from @oliverstwistytales 🦄🦋

Every November when these daisies line the roadside, it takes me back to November 2007 when I placed my six-week-old Che in a field of flowers for a newborn photo. And then he got bitten by an ant and I felt motherguilt for the first time so I squirted breastmilk on the bite and discovered the power of my motherly intuition (and breastmilk as a cure all). Nature is so closely bound to my motherhood memories, mostly because I only begun to notice nature's minutiae when I became a mum 🌼

This year I've found happiness in less work, slower days and more time to spend building treehouses (quite literally 👆🏻). On the flipside I need to be conscious of every dollar I spend. Subsequently I've created weekly and monthly budgets, embraced meal planning (and reduced food waste!) and have kept a close eye on my electricity - how much we're using and how much it's costing. Reducing my outgoings has been essential to saving money! I used @originenergy's Savernator to reassess my electricity bill and it told me exactly how much I could save if I changed to its service - you simply upload your current bill (and if you don't have a bill on hand, answer a few straightforward questions) and within seconds it provides you with personalised advice regarding your electricity costs. If less work and more time sounds like a good resolution for the New Year, head to to see if you can save #ad 🌿

Trying to spend as much one-on-one time as I can with him, even if it's only small snippets of time. The age gap between Percy and Marigold is my smallest by over a year and it's definitely required a lot of me - as in, he sleeps on my left every night and she's tucked under my right arm (goodbye personal space). But in all honesty, he's been so welcoming of his little sister and for that I'm very, very grateful (although he did cover her face with a blanket today so obviously it's a two steps forward, one step back process 😳) #siblinglove 🌿
