1 Rise
He looks so happy and relaxed out there, reading the papers. Seems almost mean to request a cuppa

Is there anything better than pouring rain after laying fresh turf? Tell me IG friends...we are planning on putting tanbark at the top, because that's where the trampoline will go, and I've heard grass underneath will die. Is this right?

Such an attractive view 🙄 NOT!
Fingers crossed it won't look like this for much longer! Turf, tanbark, paint...oh...and a come!

What is this random picture, you ask? These are the sugar flowers that topped our wedding cake...11 ago! I kept them (even after I dropped the container and they broke!)...I don't know why. My parents kept theirs for years, so maybe I felt like I should? I've decided that they don't bring me joy, I have plenty of memories and mementos of the day and it's time for these to go. Is that bad?

IG friends can you please help? I'm looking for suggestions for apartments (Air BnB or similar) in London and Paris. 2 people (separate beds), no kids, close to...well, everything really! 4-5 days in each place. Thank you!

Morning coffee on the deck, it's going to be a hot one today, but for now, I'm enjoying a cool start. After approximately 70 billion wake ups last night (from EVERYONE, the kids, the dog, Dave and myself)...I think there will be a few more of these today!

These sunshine filled, veggie growin', cubby lovin', sandpit session, BBQin', outside playin' days are upon us...thank goodness! We need some tanbark for around the veggie pots, the kids table is getting a refurb, and we are good to go! The backyard is getting a makeover too, but it's a mess right now, so no pretty pictures of that!

This room is SO lovely...and SO wasted! Despite being south facing, the light is beautiful, the space is reasonable, and it has good storage (even without the cube unit and shelves...both which I would like to get rid of!). But what to do with it? The boys don't really play in here much anymore, and we've gradually been reducing the toys. The books will move out to the living room or back to the front hallway...and then we just have a random room with no purpose!!

Mum: 0, Felix: 1 (or just a 3yo!)
He threw a MASSIVE tantrum about having to wear sneakers to childcare today...massive. So much so we sent him in his sandals (he's obsessed!) with socks, his shoes in his bag for the carers to 'hopefully' change him into, as they're not allowed to wear open toed shoes in the centre. He came home like this. Also sporting a bite from a kid named Kelvin, who either thought a kid who wears socks and sandals deserves a nibble, or is taking out his aggression at his parents for calling him 'Kelvin' on Felix. And Otis' new friend is called Texas 😳. What a weird Monday!

They're having a moment, talking about the bugs🐛 in the grass🌱. They don't get these moments often, Felix is obsessed with Dave and cannot bear to be away from him on weekends so Otis missed out on the Dad-time he so desperately craves. Felix is having a sleep, so it's time for a bit of one on one for these 2.

Car shopping is hard work! A sleeping toddler is super handy for testing boot space though!

Humph!! Have you ever just had to admit defeat and redo a spot in your home that has already been 'done'? This corner of our living room is driving me CRAZY, and I just cannot figure out how to make it work for now! There is a few options, none of which I love, we could do a couple of minor construction changes but it still wouldn't resolve it permanently...or we could do the whole shebag, which includes moving our fireplace and ducted heating intake, switching the whole room around, floor repairs, plastering, cornice and trim...etc etc etc. which we can't afford right now! Also, I'm tired of throwing money at temporary solutions and just want to get it RIGHT!

Late, sugar-laden Halloween nights mean warm morning baths to soothe sore tummies and savage sugar come-downs...whilst I sit with a second coffee. Bliss.

Sharing this beautiful statement from @bemorewithless...
This really rings true for me, the more bits and pieces I get rid of, the more at ease I feel with life. It's a slow process, clearing out ALL the things, but I'm chipping away at it, a bit at a time, and the results soothe my mind and ease my soul. I'm really looking forward to a Christmas/birthday season that celebrates people and food this year, with less of a focus on 'stuff'. I hope my kids understand!

This morning. Coffee number 2, to do list (one item crossed off already...yay!), and my book of life right now!
With so much going on in the last part of the year, including kinder and school preparation for both boys, birthdays, house repairs/improvements, car research and a change in both Dave and my work circumstances that has meant I'm struggling to stay on top of ALL. THE. THINGS! Throw in a couple of unexpected life events, and a few 'would be really good to get that sorted' (OT session for Otis, skin check for me, Dave needs new work clothes) and my brain is going at a hundred miles an hour, and my anxiety flares up and controls I'm using a book. Not a diary, just a book, to write it down. Things to remember, notes, gift ideas, plans etc. It gives me a basis, and then I can prepare a to do list from there. I am not, by nature, an organized person, so fingers crossed I can get through the next couple of months without any major meltdowns, and enjoy the Christmas season, Summer, and Otis' birthday!
