Seven years ago, I️ made this crocheted flower headband for our newborn niece Emmy. My sister in law lent it to us for Lily to use when she found out we were having a girl earlier this year. It’s kind of neat that we ended up with it this many years later!

Elliot has been really into Playdoh recently, which means I've been sitting there playing with it too! Also, if you're wondering what the elephant is all about, his name is Elliot the Elephant and he's in a couple books that toddler Elliot happens to love right now. Thanks to @shelbssky for introducing us to the books a while back!

Earlier this week, I️ took Elliot and Hatdog to the park and he wanted to bring his kickball. While we were there, he dropped his ball and another dog got to it and popped it. Elliot didn’t cry, but he sure looked like he wanted to. It must have been a big deal to him, because since then, he’s been talking about how ‘a doggie broke ball,’ and ‘Daddy go shhhhh shhhh shhhh’ (and when he says this part, he mimics the motion for using a bike pump to try to resuscitate the broken ball) 😂

Happy eight years, @jeffkao ! We're getting old, but at least we get to get old together!

Two and a half months ago we were in podunk Missouri, waiting to see the total eclipse. I knitted this hat to pass time while we were waiting for the sun to do its eclipse thing. forward to today, when Lily wore it for the first time!

Whoops, am a couple days late w my Halloween post...costumes were made during the kiddos nap time, and Elliot's got the most love (Jeff's was slapped together in 10 minutes 😬)

I'm trying to figure out my creative outlet now that I'm at home with two kiddos who need a lot of attention (i.e I don't have the luxury of sitting down for a few hours at a time to work on jewelry). Today's spare moments were spent sewing Elliot a big kid blanket. Does he like it? Apparently not as much as he likes watching TV 😂

I took the first pic of Lily, then asked her, "Hey Lily, do you want to smile?" and she actually listened (second pic) 😊

When seester comes to visit, and we can't really go anywhere because we have a newborn, we feast on crab (and crab-gut kochujiang rice, and garlic noodles). 😊

Meet baby Lily. She arrived right after midnight on 10/2. I was a little apprehensive about being a girl mom, but 4 days in, and I love it (clusterfeeding and all). Welcome to the family, Lillian Jayne Kao!

Last week was my frenzied nesting week, where I frantically tried to prep for baby. We're splitting our spare room into a guest room/nursery, so we have limited space to work with (darn queen bed, as you can see from this pic). Am trying my best, given the parameters, but it's kind of hard. Good thing the baby won't care!

We have been so fortunate to have generous friends and neighbors that have provided for our baby needs. When Elliot was born, one of our neighbors lent us their fancy bassinet. For baby Lilian, I was worried we wouldn't have a bassinet, but I guess you could say that God provides! Our next door neighbor was literally about to load this bassinet in her car to donate, but she happened to see Jeff in our garage, and ended up giving it to us instead. It made my day! Also, I couldn't resist making some sheets for it 😊

Made Elliot's old hand-me-down burp cloths a little prettier for baby sister. She deserves some cute things too :)

Road trips make me want to knit. So baby Lilian benefits from these past two weekends, where we spent a lot of time driving in the car and mama had extended time to knit. Apparently purples are her color 😉

seeing the total eclipse was amazing. not sure how to categorize it in the life experiences bucket but it was TOTALITY worth the drive 😉. The third pic and vid at the end here shows what it looked like during totality. (also, sorry for the flipped vid - couldn't figure out how to rotate it...)

Threw a fit because I wouldn't let him bring his 'hat' downstairs. Guess who caved in? 😂
