I was pleased to honor Steve St. Bernard, an MTA bus driver with a Citation of Honor for his act of heroism by helping to save the life of a young child who fell several stories from a building window.

Kings County District Attorney Charles J. Hynes today announced the recipients of his 23rd annual Law Enforcement Appreciation Awards at a breakfast ceremony held at Brooklyn Law School.
“The officers recognized at today’s ceremony are extraordinary men and women who represent the best law enforcement officers in the country,” said District Attorney Hynes. “They play a significant role in keeping Brooklyn safe, sometimes risking their own lives in the process. I am proud to honor these outstanding officers.”

Rice today announced the indictment of Joselito Vega, 42, for money laundering as part of a stolen art scheme, from a Kings Point, NY estate which he was hired to paint and selling at least one of them. DA Hynes announces the indictment of Dr. Oleg Davie for recklessly performing liposuction on a patient whom he knew previously had heart transplant surgery. The liposuction resulted in her untimely death. DA Hynes said, "It is shameful that a medical professional would disregard his patient's safety, putting her in serious danger.
