Sound of a long weekend? The sizzle of meats on the barbie

Crab boudin blanc with XO sauce and pickled fennel but it's the dish in the background that was my fave of the night. Eggplant with black pepper and cashew was a complete umami bomb. Of course it's the one dish I didn't photograph up close. Glistening black sauce at nighttime = 😭 but definite 🍆❤️
The taco yaki from @paperbirdpottspoint is a real Doh! moment when it arrives on your table. That's a rice flour taco with octopus (tako) and the usual takoyaki condiments of bulldog sauce plus dancing bonito flakes. 🌮🐙
It was everything northern Vietnamese at the #mondayhongdinners pop-up last weekend at @theragland.

Bun cha noodles with pork patties cooked over charcoal

Pandan sago pudding with fresh mango for desserts. .
It's hard not to feel like you're at a family dinner with @angiehong52, Mr Woo and @davidjiew chatting with everyone throughout the night. The Vietnamese prawn crackers at the start were super addictive too.
ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT FREE CHEESE BUFFET. Goodbye arteries. Bon Fromage happening all weekend at Carriageworks. If you missed out on free tickets, there may be limited spots on Sunday. First in, best dressed! 🧀🧀🧀
Roe. Roe. Roe your boat. Sea urchin, avruga, salmon and cod roe is the best thing about the newly opened Bridge Bon Appetit at @restauranthubert. More deets in the latest post on grabyourfork.blogspot.com. Click on the #linkinbio or head to bit.ly/HubertBridge 🛶🌉
Taste the 🌈. Poké bowl with king salmon sashimi, edamame, black rice and hot pink pickled cabbage. The house soda pimped up with gin went down a treat as well 🐟🍚🍹
Papa's ricotta cake, tiramisu cake and a strong flat white. Is Monday over yet?
So thin and crisp it cracks apart like a potato chip. Banh xeo fave in Bankstown.
Because it's Friyay. Fluffy pancakes with strawberries, mascarpone and maple syrup. 🥞🍓🍯
I can has cheezburger? Getting my final fix before @publifekitchen closes next week. Gogogo while you can.
Epic high tea from the long weekend where @racy_staci takes the concept of over-catering to new levels of excess. We had scones with jam and cream. Japanese cotton cheesecake covered in cream. @giginoodles' marshmallowy pavlova with diy fruit and cream. I made Japanese fruit sandwiches with cream. And butterfly cakes with cream. Is there such a thing as too much cream? Nope. Never.
This one's definitely for the chilli lovers! Indonesian cheap eats (nothing over $12.50!) at this hidden gem in the city. Check out Lestari in the latest blog post. Click on the #linkinbio or head to bit.ly/LestariSyd
This has to be the best value meal in the city. Boat noodle soup for just $4. So cheap it's crazy. Tweak the seasoning as far as you like with DIY fish sauce, chilli vinegar, dried chilli and sugar. Perfect mid-arvo pick-me-up, especially when the wind starts gusting after sunset 🇹🇭🍜
Afternoon tea sorted with this teaser from #parralanes. The @pimpmydonut is hectic - salted caramel, smashed potato chips, mini m&ms and toasted marshmallows! #gifted
Happily living on a diet of flavoured ice right now. It was worth the trek to Lidcombe during the weekend heatwave for this bingsoo, Korean shaved ice with kinako roasted soy bean flour, sweetened red beans and chewy mochi balls drizzled with condensed milk 🍧
Never not lusting after Marrickville Pork Roll. That massive chunk of pickled daikon makes it. And the sauce. And the extra pate 😍😋
