I just finished up an adventurous photoshoot with @tj_newell. I know I've been talking about TJ a lot recently, but I can't help it. He has an amazing heart for what God has called him to and I can't wait to announce his awesome new venture soon.

I LOVE our bunny lion ❤️
NEW VIDEO! Do y’all remember my friends @bonniekatez and Max @belikethefox? They're some of our most downloaded podcast guests, have the most incredible story, and are two of the people I admire most in the world.
They've been traveling around the United States in their Airstream, making films and vlogs and filling the world with joy. Their YouTube channel is my favorite thing on the internet.
They filmed an AMAZING interview with me and it's live on YouTube! We ate Thai food and CANDY and talked about good news and my love story and I made a total fool of myself. It's like a visual podcast.
Check it out in the link in @beadventureus' bio! And totally subscribe to see more! I love Bonnie Kate and Max so much. ❤️

Married this girl two years ago yesterday and I just keep falling deeper in love. What a wild whimsical adventure we've been on.

I just rolled back into Nashville after an amazing week in Egypt with Team @GoodGoodGoodco and dozens of new friends at the World Youth Forum
I'm coming home feeling so energized by the conversations I had with so many people from around the world. I feel like it's too easy to forget that I live in a bubble in my little community of people similar to me here in the States. Spending time in serious dialogue with people that have lived totally different lives than me about the problems (and especially solutions) that are most important to them and their communities is so helpful for shifting my focus outward instead of inward.
Honestly, it's when I feel confident about my actually doing this that I become the most complacent and least helpful. And so this was a perfect reawakening for me.
I'm so thankful for the opportunity to be a part of this forum, to bring my amazing team along, and spark some new ideas and actions. (@wyfegypt #weneedtotalk) I can't wait to share more stories on the podcast, Goodnewsletter, and #Goodnewspaper in the coming months.
In the meantime, make sure that you check out our posts on @goodgoodgoodco. Kristi, who runs our social media, did an incredible job bringing folks into the experience. Definitely give our account a follow.

Loved getting to take the day off to go snorkeling (my first time) with new friends from Syria, India, Dubai, Russia, and Italy!

“A mind once expanded by a global experience never contracts to its original dimensions.” —Oliver Holmes
I heard this quote, for probably the first time, on last week's episode of my podcast with Abby Falik (founder of @globalcitizenyr) and it's been coming to mind all week as I've been meeting people from around the world here at the World Youth Forum. It's beautiful and so true. @goodgoodgoodco

I was invited out to Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt to attend the World Youth Forum. It's a rad event that brings thousands of world-changing millennials (from more than 110 countries?!) together to dialogue, present, and learn from each other — and share their perspective with dignitaries, journalists, and world leaders.
I've loved my time in the sessions at the conference already, but my favorite part has absolutely been the amazing people I've been fortunate enough to befriend.
I love that from the moment I touched down in Cairo, the inspiring conversations began. So far I've probably met new friends from more than a dozen countries — all of whom are doing things that absolutely inspire me. I'm just blown away. I'm sure y'all will get to know some of these folks through the podcast and #Goodnewspaper someday soon.
I can't believe I'm just a few days into this thing. I can't wait to see what happens next. @wyfegypt #weneedtotalk @goodgoodgoodco

Started off my first morning in Egypt with a long (long for me, that is) run around my hotel and along the beach. I ended up running the full length of this pier a few times. It turns out it jets half a mile into the ocean.
I'm not a great runner. And I don't really enjoy running. But I'm learning that I'm made of way too much energy and that I function best when I burn off a good amount of my energy early in the day. I find that the days I do my best podcast interviews, write my best stories, and come up with my favorite ideas are the days that I intentionally started off doing this thing that I hate doing.
So here's to running. Even when I'm jetlagged. Even when I'm sore from sitting on a plane. Even when I stayed up way too late eating because my body thought it was lunch time.

Two questions:
1. If you had no limitations what would you spend your life working toward?
2. What do you hope to be remembered for?

It feels so good to have THOUSANDS of copies of the new issue of the #Goodnewspaper ready to ship out to our subscribers next week! I've just been handing them out to people I bump into herein Nashville. I'm so proud of our team and the way this came out. Goodness gracious. I can't wait for y'all to read this!
Link to subscribe in my bio for those who haven't subscribed yet.
CONTEST! @adamjk was the first person I didn't already know to say yes to being on my podcast. I'd admired his hopeful yet real perspective and work for quite some time but then getting to know him left me with a whole new appreciation for him.
@sammiharveyco and I have since gotten to hang with him. And Adam was a huge supporter and resource during our Kickstarter for the #Goodnewspaper.
@adamjk has a brand new book coming out next week (10/3!) and I got to read an early copy. I've loved all of his books but I think this is my favorite. It's beautiful, hopeful, and helpful for any creative trying to put more good out in the world.
You can check out the book and preorder it ($1 of every preorder goes to the @teganandsarafoundation!) at @thingsarewhatyoumakeofthem!
Oh, and we're running a giveaway for two copies of his book on our @goodgoodgoodco account! I didn't tell Adam we were doing that so hopefully that's okay! 🤷🏼‍♂️ Go follow @goodgoodgoodco and enter right now and definitely preorder another copy as well. :)

Mello is a legend in Nashville. But her story started out humbly.
I was introduced to Mello, the founder & owner of @imageopticalnashville as the final part of a fun storytelling campaign I’ve been working on.
I spent the morning with her in her cute shop & got to hear her story. Growing up with 11 siblings, Mello knew that she’d have to pay her own way through college, so after she graduated high school, she got a job in a restaurant to pay the bills. One day a man named Steve came in and as Mello served him his food he asked if she’d want to work in the optical business.
The only experience she’d had with the industry was getting glasses in the 3rd grade. All she could picture about the industry was that it was made up of almost exclusively men wearing white coats and that there wasn’t much selection in eyewear.
Steve told Mello that things were changing. That she could be a woman wearing one of those white coats — and that more fashion was coming to the glasses world.
Mello went on to accept a job working for Steve and learned from him for 5 years. (He later sold his shops & they became the first locations for an iconic glasses company.)
She then moved to Nashville to open up her own shop which has become truly influential & well-respected. For nearly 30 years, she’s served the music industry in Nashville, working with labels & custom fitting and styling glasses for classic country music stars and modern artists. (She used to send cakes to all the record labels in town as gifts to build relationships.)
She showed me an old scrapbook filled with cuttings of photos from magazines with celebrities & musicians she’d styled glasses for. She even told me about styling a T Swift music video a few years ago.
Her store is fully independent & she has no interest in expanding. She loves going to work every day because she loves helping people see well and look good. I love that!
Huge thank you to @americanexpress for introducing me to so many inspiring business owners so we could create this storytelling series to celebrate that over 1 million more places in the US started accepting Amex cards in 2016 #storyportrait #AmexWelcomed #AmexAmbassador
I feel like I'm still recovering from the awesomeness of last week's #STORY2017. I've been to @storygathering 4 times now and each year I come away incredibly inspired and encouraged by this community of storytellers.
I was absolutely honored to get to present on stage this year and share my own personal journey of hitting a wall creatively and letting curiosity guide me toward creating something that meant a lot to me. That something ended up being the #Goodnewspaper and @goodgoodgoodco. (Thanks to the generous folks at STORY we got to give out 900 copies of Issue 02 of the #Goodnewspaper to attendees!)
Sharing on stage was amazing (and terrifying, as always), but even more amazing was learning from so many storytellers I deeply admire.
Old friends like @bradmontague, @heyamberrae, @sproctor, @bethanyhaleywilliams, @harrisiii, and @estherhavens.
And new friends like @amenabee, @matthewluhnstory, @macgeidt, @colorbyspiegel, @missaniela, @jjaggard, @imjimkrueger, @sideshowmediagroup, @thismovedme, and @lizvice.
I'm already looking forward to #STORY2018. See you there?
I got to spend some time last week with my friend @ruthielindsey at the @lifeisgoodco HQ for #PositiveThinkingDay!
We both spoke and shared our stories alongside some incredible people we both admire.
While I was at HQ I got the opportunity to do a podcast interview with somebody I've admired for a while: @adamjohnfoss.
Adam is a former prosecutor making a huge difference in the United States criminal justice system. After he saw the brokenness in the US criminal justice system first hand, he didn't just give in to the way the system worked, or even just leave and try his hand at something else. He decided to stay put and use compassion and understanding to make a difference in the system and people's lives — from the inside.
My team rushed to push the episode live within a few days so y'all could hear it quick. It's a REALLY good one. Download it now to listen to on your next drive/workout/etc in the link in my bio!
Thanks for hosting us @LifeisGoodCo and helping us remember that even in the face of our world’s biggest challenges, there is opportunity. #thisisoptimism

It's coming! 🎉
Issue 02 of the #Goodnewspaper! Pre-order in the link in my bio.
I moved to Nashville two years ago this week. Two of my best friends joined me to drive my completely packed Camry across the country from Portland — a city I loved — to Tennessee — so I could be with a girl I loved.
It's been an amazing two years living in the same city as @sammiharveyco.
It's been an amazing two years of getting to know and work with so many creative people at @weld.
And it's been an amazing year of learning from others, trying new things, taking chances, and working harder than I ever had before.
Here's to new places, great people, and colorful murals. 🍻

The first thing I did when I landed in Boston was take a lyft to get a salad from @sweetgreen (not sponsored, just obsessed!) and then walk across the street to the BEAUTIFUL Boston Public Library. Goodness gracious, y'all. This place is gorgeous. I can't believe I can just walk into this place and spend an afternoon working surrounded by this beauty.
I'm a HUGE fan of this city.
