I learned that I was born in the wrong century on this trip to Iceland. @chrisleclerc snapped me in this full on old-world attire before we boarded our plane back to LA. @matthewrivera on the other hand looks like he could be born in any century he’d like.

So this one is a little more than overdue, but I haven't really had a chance to breathe and reflect on the last month until just now. If you're not into long posts, no worries, carry on! This is for myself to look back on as much as anything. // July 17th marked the end of the two year acting conservatory I attended at @actatbaronbrown Studio, and I had the infinite honor and pleasure of sharing the moment with my parents who flew the 3000 miles from Birmingham, AL to Burbank to be with me. My dearest dearest sister and oldest friend @jessiecope14 wasn't able to make it in person, but there was no one closer to my heart. Also alongside me were my dear friends @josephcmcqueen @jordandmcqueen and @jaspreetsabrina all of whom I am blessed to know, and even more blessed they chose to spend their evening with me to celebrate an achievement of not only time, but of focus and dedication as well. Finishing the two year program felt akin to resurfacing from some strange dream lake where you must face all your darkest demons, and (often more frightening) the possibility of becoming a greater self. It will be impossible to try to explain the nuances of the training, as it required more than just your dedication, but a willingness to see yourself change. More than a willingness: a desperation. It taught me the value of goals and discipline. It taught me that you can become something you set out to be, though, the road will inevitably reshape that outcome as you travel. It taught me that you must keep walking even when the way isn't clear. It taught me the value of direction (no acting pun intended). If you have direction, obstacles become puzzles, and puzzles can be solved. // After graduation, we went north to Sacaramento, but stopped along the way to hold @bama_bell & @akdrick baby girl, my "niece" Emma Grace Kendrick. To say I'm proud of them is infinitely understated. I'm in awe of them. That little girl couldn't be more beautiful and I couldn't be more grateful to have a front row seat to watching her grow. We saw the Yuba river in Sacramento, we saw Lake Tahoe, smoky as she was, and we saw good old friends all along the way. I couldn't be more grateful for this life.

Last night was my third time seeing Eddy boy live, but the first time seeing him all the way through. I've been listening to him since I heard him duet with Passenger in a YouTube video in 2007 when he was OPENING FOR HIM AT A PUB. 10 years later, he's selling out the Staples Center three nights in a row. Unreal. But I knew it from the first time I heard him. I said, "This guy's gonna be somebody." It's strange to be super happy for a celebrity, but I'm really proud of Ed Sheeran. He said it: "I won't stop till my name's in lights at stadium heights." Well, Ed, ya did it. Well done. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Also, every time I've seen him has been for my birthday 😂 thank you, thank you, thank you, @chrisleclerc for sharing the joy of the Sheeran with me. And thanks @teddysphotos for killing it on the regular. Looking forward to the next 10 years of music.

Really had a blast playing at Summer Solstice last night. Felt good to get out of my bedroom and actually play guitar for real, present people. So grateful to be invited to play last night, and I intend to make it a point to keep the ball rolling. 📽: @thethreadsmith 🙏🏻
