one of the many things i admired about FRED COLE is how he was probably the only o.g. 60s garage hero to consistently make vital new music deep into the 21st century. and also that dead moon/pierced arrows would’ve continued to defiantly do things the same way whether or not anybody was listening. i first met the super-friendly trio when our bands played together on a cold wet night in the hollow gloom of a green bay nightclub in the 1990s and, though maybe 30 ppl turned up, DEAD MOON did their pre-show ritual and proceeded to tear into their material like it was a packed house full of adoring fans... never saw a performance where they didn’t give it their all and transport their crowd. and it was a thrill to see the band’s greatness increasingly recognized over the last couple of decades (i still need to see their doc!)... FRED COLE has continued to inspire and amaze me year after year - not only in his authenticity, spirit, diy business model, and lifestyle, but also musically and aesthetically on so many levels. his life and work is a roadmap for lifers like us everywhere. it’s hard to imagine living in a world without a FRED COLE to look up to in it. but the timeless immediacy of his half-century of rocknroll brilliance will burn the fires for a long time to come! 🔥🔥🔥 #fredcole #deadmoon #piercedarrows #lollipopshoppe #therats

A not very impressive photo of a VERY impressive owl that flew down & about a foot above my head right after this grainy pic was taken. He was about the same size as a small dog. Amazing.

So I got to see @lee_scratch_perry in real life - shake his hand - in real life - & have him sign this piece of paper for my sister. That happened...
