Wishing the best of luck to the best of buds. We had hours of stories from less than a week aboard Anita, excited to see what 10 weeks produces! Lots of love to all the crew! #rockinthehelm #californiatomexico #sailing
A mercifully clear day up here on Rockpile. Learning to always be watchin' the winds...
Hey guys! I am currently working with my friend James (in yellow on the left) to raise money for the football team he runs in the Kibera Slum in Nairobi. Ever since I met James in the summer of 2013, he has inspired me with his kindness, generosity, and hard work. While running this 60 strong team to help keep boys off the streets, he's also managed to earn a degree from the University of Nairobi, while still providing for his mother and younger sisters. James pays for all team equipment, practice time, and travel fees out of his own pocket, and it's not uncommon for him to also buy the boys lunch, as their families cannot afford it themselves. So, please, if you have 20, 10, 5, or even one dollar to spare ($1!!!), please help us keep this team going! A little really does go a long way, and anything and everything is enormously appreciated by James and the boys. There's a whole lot of bad in the world these days, so if you're looking for a way to make it just a little bit better, here's an opportunity! Link to the fundraiser is in my bio! Thank you!
Lightning over the bay in Point Reyes a few weeks ago. None of us really knew what to do on a sailboat in an electrical storm... #lightning #pointreyes #california #sailing #storm
Couldn't have asked for a better time learning to sail last week, better weather, better teachers, or better friends. Only would have asked for a few more days, a few more evenings like this one. #californiacoast #sailing #california #sunset
Sunday is rest day on the ranch, so we went for a hike to the redwoods beyond the hill #geyserville #california #exploring #ridgeback #ridgebackranch
A classic throw back to our summer adventure in the Sierras. @samuelcrossley trying to take a real photo...Rory seems more interested in the Sprinter. Thanks again @natureymakery for waiting around at the garage with me all day today, and for lending me and my busted car a tow all the way home. Owe you one, mate! #sunsoutbunsout #stinsonbeach #whatabud #whatabutt
I was originally hoping to be working on a van project at this time this year, but hey, a house project is a good start. Gabriel, happy to finally be working on the new roof. #rockpile #sonoma #california #110degrees #aintnoproblem
"I only went out for a walk and finally concluded to stay out till sundown, for going out, I found, was really going in." John Muir. Another glorious weekend in Humbolt. #bigtree #bigtreegrove #humbolt #redwoodcreek
Happy to have spent the last few days taking stock of life (and the barn) with a good friend from NYC. Getting out of the city can be damn tricky, but it's always worth it, even if you find yourself crushed under enormous storage cabinets at 8 in the morning on a Sunday...doesn't seem like he cares much.
Not the same dam, but a dam all the same: "At the lake's western end, where the Little Tennessee River flows into it, stands a big hydroelectric dam, 480 feet high, built by the Tennessee Valley Authority in the 1930s. It is the biggest dam in America east of the Mississippi, and something of an attraction for people who like concrete in volume."
