Happy birthday @vancityreynolds! In a 2009 interview, the actor recalled moving from Canada to the US as a 19-year-old. "I remember being upset because I was finally legal to drink in Canada, and I decided to throw that all away and move to America, where I had to wait another two years."

"When this picture [of Joan Didion and John Dunne] was taken, the legend goes, John saw James Taylor and Carley Simon being chased by a pack of paparazzi through LAX on the way to their honeymoon. He turned to Joan and said, 'The remake of A Star is Born (1976) set in the world of rock and roll.' They wrote the script, [Barbra] Streisand and [Kris] Kristofferson starred, and all were paid handsomely." —Griffin Dunne, nephew of Joan Didion and John Dunne and director of forthcoming Didion doc "The Center Will Not Hold."

After a bad turn in the industry, French actor @arnaudvalois gave up the craft to pursue massage therapy instead. Now, over a decade later, Valois returns to acting in breakout Cannes hit "BPM (Beats Per Minute)," earning rave reviews as the star of this politically charged drama about ACT UP Paris. 📸 @francoispragnere

Naaz Mohammed is a 19-year-old Kurdish musician living in Holland. Today she premiered her latest single “Up to Something”—a celebration of her breakthrough into what she calls “outside life.” Like all her songs it is immediate and hooky, rare qualities in a musical climate rife with overproduced ambience and meandering top-lines.

For 20-year-old actor @JackoRowan, it's clear that his breakout miniseries "Born to Kill" is just the beginning: earlier this month, Rowan wrapped "Benjamin," Simon Amstell’s debut narrative feature as a director and writer. Next up, he will appear in the fourth season of hit UK series "Peaky Blinders" alongside Aiden Gillen, Cillian Murphy, Paul Anderson, and Adrian Brody. 📸 @mattholyoak

Congratulations to American novelist George Saunders on his #manbookerprize victory for Lincoln in the Bardo. "As the writer of this book, what I loved was the feeling of having so many surprises come at the end that I hadn’t really planned or planted. Just through the process of trying to make the living and the dead feel real, all these little benefits came out. And these benefits turned out to be much more articulate statements of what I really believe."

So far @Jessica_Rothe has tackled parts ranging from an enterprising pot dealer in MTV’s comedy series "Mary+Jane" to a supporting, singing role in last year’s "La La Land," and is set to star in next year’s remake of the 1983 cult classic "Valley Girl," but @HappyDeathDaymovie, out now, marks the actress's first foray into the horror genre. "The film is a horror-comedy-coming-of-age-action-thriller-love-story: 'Groundhog Day' meets 'Scream' meets John Hughes,” she explains.

The Walking Dead's @laurencohan described the "Death Dinners" hosted for each character as they're killed off the show. According to the British-American actress, Steven Yeun's goodbye party (he played fan-favorite Glenn Rhee) was the first to feature a karaoke machine. "We finished the night singing Backstreet Boys karaoke and everything else cheesy you can imagine."

Cloud of Petals, Sarah Meyohas’s latest project, is as ethereal and delightfully obscure as it sounds. Opening at Red Bull Arts on October 12, the 26-year-old artist's show features a film, vitrines made by wall panels from Bell Labs fitted with two-way mirrors, six virtual reality simulations depicting digitized and pixelated rose petals, and two wall displays of 3,200 individually pressed and preserved petals.

Alia Shawkat isn’t just the producer and star of @searchpartytbs. In fact, she’s also a painter, singer, writer and possibly a future director. "With all the attention that comes from being an actor—on set and when doing press—you have to maintain a certain kind of energy and be open and snappy and interactive. When I’m painting or singing, I get to experience a different side of that. With singing, I don’t necessarily have to share my own personality, but I get to be emotional."

Appearing in one of the year’s most anticipated films sounds glamorous, but for @sylviahoeks, the road there was anything but. “I was filming a movie in Germany and didn’t have time to make a proper casting tape,” she says of her audition for @bladerunnermovie, this month’s sequel to the 1982 cult classic. “In the middle of the night, I sat against the door of my Airbnb, because that’s where I could plug in the most lamps to light myself, and I just ran the scene with a handheld camera until dawn.”

Stars of Norwegian teen series #Skam, Tarjei Sandvik Moe and Henrik Holm are the poster boys for a fandom so large and malleable that their characters became real. "I’ve met so many people that were affected by, not only the characters and how we portray them, but also the fan base and the warmth inside of all the fans that it became a family that started connecting with each other from across the world. They found something that they could enjoy together and can talk about as much as they wanted." —@henkeholm
