A month ago I landed in #telaviv not knowing what to expect from the @realityisrael experience. We started out herding sheep and ended up as friends with a little boat racing in between (and a whole lotta food). I left a piece of my heart in #Israel but brought back so much more. Shabbat shalom to #myreality family. Thank you #schustermaninitiative and @homesteadbrooklyn for getting me there. I’ll be passing the torch to @cutmistake @montrealexpert @ramboutan next year.

I was teaching a class on #sustainablefashion at @fitnyc this evening to a group of engaged and inspiring designers. I always describe sustainable design as a series of choices. Ultimately any decision we make, no matter how sustainable, is going to have an impact on people or the planet. This image boils down Sustainability for me during a very introspective time in my career: which choice does your moral compass make? The energy-laden hand dryer or the recycled paper that will be sent to landfill. I usually tell my students that the most sustainable choice they can make is not to make anything at all. But how does that impact the millions of people who depend on an income from the fashion industry. So which would you choose? And how did you make that choice?

(PS. I wiped my hands on my pants after washing them and then started thinking about this post)
