Beautiful view of #SF, but not one you want to get used to. 14th floor, UCSF Medical Center.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving in NYC and we didn't even have to lift a finger...Traditional Turkey dinner at @bubbyspieco with the woman I'm most grateful for @overlandtraveler and a nice walk down to the Chelsea Piers. What a great day!

I'm slowly adding to my collection of @adventuretoolcompany gear. This is the Sportroll- high-quality, American-made, and it is ready for any adventure. I have their Tool Pouches and Atlas Map Case too, that have been in service for years with no deterioration. How do you store your gear?

I'm honored to have my photo of Jonathan Hanson's FJ40 chosen for the @overlandexpo 2017 EAST patch this year!
This photo was taken after Overland Expo 2017 WEST camping at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.

Thanks to the Donatis who brought me @publikcoffee from SLC! Now to replace enough of my blood with caffeine to get this day going!

This little guy had a rough couple of days. Sir Digby evidently ate a bone (no one in our group had any bones, nor gave him any) while we were camping near the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. After an evening of vomiting and a full night of him hacking and gagging, we broke camp early on Saturday and made the 3.5 hour journey to the nearest open vet clinic in St. George, Utah to get him some professional attention. The doc started off with a shot of Cerenia for nausea and said that if it didn't work by 5:00 or 6:00 that evening, to bring him back in to check for a possible foxtail in his throat. The shot seemed to work for a few hours and we all got some rest, but he started coughing and hacking again around 5:00 pm, so we took him back to the vet for an x-ray and endoscopy. In the end, the doc didn't find a foreign object, but noted severe inflammation in his throat. We picked him up at 10:00 pm last night and although groggy and drugged up, he was back to his normal terrier-self. Now for some rest before we head home.

Big thanks to the vets and staff at Southwest Animal Emergency Clinic for taking such good care of our Little Man. Make sure to thank your vet, it's a tough job and they deserve the kudos.

It's hard to believe that this is a real place. Sometimes it takes getting out into the wild to realize why we do what we do.
