My groom was cleaning the basement today and found this @courierpress Parade from 1956 — with a piece on the notable @megandanks 😉

Make a small laundry bag for hand towels in the bathroom. I hang this one from the back of the door. It’s made by hand-sewing together two placemats from Target. They’re offset about 3” and I left an opening on one short end. Total cost was $10 for both placemats. Hanger was on-hand from a yard sale.

Homeschool looks different every year. I’m working for someone else now, though still at home. So school is shared between myself and my husband, who is home on a work injury for awhile. Although it’s tricky making sure the girls are all getting what they need, we’re all very thankful to have them home for now. And so helpful meeting other homeschooling families who also work full or part time. It can be done!
I see this view every time we go to the library and I’m reminded why we do this. To have the freedom to explore all the books in the middle of the day at random.

I was reading my bible and Millie was jealous. She paced around my lap for a minute before setting up camp.

Reading The Book of Common Prayer via the Bible app. I’m awful about keeping up but when I do, i feel grounded. I’m actually listening to the ESV audio version in the morning as I get up and get going. Although, this particular voice has become so familiar I wonder if I heard his voice-over somewhere else I might think it was God speaking to me. 🤔😉

AJ came out of her room in a rare appearance to celebrate the twins’ birthday. I’m not much of a baker so Dad got cosmic brownies and candles. After the twins got theirs he lit 15 candles for her. She spit it out with the first bite. “Uck, there’s wax on it!” We waited to make sure she thought it was funny (😉) and then we all laughed. Hard. #teenangst #treadlightly

The wall by Emma’s bed. She keeps a photo of her twinsie and some notes on HTML. And SEA is a saying I gave her for staying calm and assessing a situation before freaking out. It works about 1 out of 10 times. 😏

Got my very first ever in the world pair of VANS today!! Never could have them as a kid because it was a luxury and even as an adult it seemed a waste of money. But some kohls cash and a sale means I can have this pink luxury basically for FREE ($54.99 on sale, 20% off coupon $10 off promo and $40 in kohls cash from previous orders buying necessities for the family).

It’s NOvember, the time to practice saying NO. No to too much food at thanksgiving, no to chasing Black Friday’s cheap (read valueless) deals. For that matter, say no to any purchase that won’t still bring me value 5+ years from now. I need to say no to my family who expects everything from me, not just for myself but to teach them independence. I’m saying no to myself when I pile on the pressure to get things done. It doesn’t all have to be done right now. The holidays are coming, sure, but so is January. The exception to the rule is coffee. And friends. And the two together. ❤️☕️

I don’t use green onions enough to buy a whole bundle and I feel so wasteful when I find a soggy mess in the fridge later. But last year I found that if I stick the roots in water and leave them out in the kitchen window they’ll re-grow as much as I need. This lasts about 2-3 regrowths before it doesn’t taste the same and I get more (about a month).

When we got the cats I put all the plants outside that were known to be either poisonous or yummy to them. It’s getting colder now and I’m not sure what to do with them for winter. I brought the eucalyptus in for a minute but the cats found it and immediately tried to eat it. It was like catnip. I couldn’t keep them away. It’s on the porch again now. Any ideas?
