Outside Weta Digital, waiting for my man. He says he's 'up to his neck in Hobbit poo'!
  • The digital magicians are all in there, making Hobbit magic. It's because I'm so excited about this film that I don't mind waiting on this snowy 'spring' night...

  • Any chance for a sneak peek from the inside?

Woke up at 3.45am. Checked Twitter to make sure it wasn't a dream. We have a 37 year old She-jay as our new Prime Minister, Green Ministers and a coalition government in which all three parties have committed to a review of our mental health system, action on climate change, reduction of poverty and to clean up our rivers.

My face on a day when I got to talk to a bunch of people about the People's Agenda, go for a run on a black sand beach and welcome a 37 yr old Shejay as our new Prime Minister.

I missed the big announcement but got to fly into this sunset. And now we (almost) have a new government, a new young, female PM and I've just settled on a very exciting plan for 2018 with my wonderful mate Jess Berentson-Shaw. The future looks bright.

Whole-hearted thank to @clarencewhirly for sharing her fabulous parents with me this weekend. They helped me hang paintings, masks, blinds and curtains today. Including creating a new J S Parker corner in my kitchen to match the J S Parker wall in my bedroom ❤️ @beautcommute

Almost blew it at the last minute by getting to the airport after the flight had closed. Bad aunt. But thanks to the lovely @airnz folk she's on the flight. Phew!
Wouldn't be a visit to Wellington without a visit to hard-working Uncle @broclobsterx at @boquitanz
I made plenty of bad calls in my time as Directora at @labocalocanz but I'll never stop being glad I backed the crazy idea to open a vegan taqueria in the city, because @boquitanz tacos complete me. Left to right: Falafel, Chipotle Tempeh, Mole Bean Tofu & Potato Rostock w/ Beetroot hummus.
Good times on Kapiti Island with Liv (who asked me to make sure her mother understands that she will not climb hills like this for her, aunt's privilege only)
You know the game where your grandma throws pine cones at you and you have to dodge them? No? So that's just my mother's invention then is it? 😂😂😂😂
I'd say my parents found the perfect beach house - where you can sit at the table with a coffee and keep an eye on the grandchildren/niblings on the beach.

148 years ago today Te Kooti and his men fought British forces and their Māori allies from this fortified redoubt in Te Pōrere. We were there on the anniversary of the battle, one of the final major battles of the New Zealand wars and we were the only people there. Our relationship to our domestic military history is very different to our reverence for our contributions to wars abroad, isn't it?
