So, we went to a car lot ( Sherman Dodge) today to look at vans. The salesman, a madman, took Anthony Cesario, G and me on a 55 MPH trip down a residential street.
And then, knowing his fuel was low he took a chance at making it to the car storage lot anyway, and, of course, ran out of gas.
After listening to his stories of the hundred different ways he almost died because of bad lifestyle choices he told us he really didn’t know much about the van we were looking at and turned us over to another salesman. Has he got in an accident while he was driving like a maniac and injured Jie it would’ve been the most serious of his bad lifestyle choices, ever.
The next sales guy, who pretty much just blew us off because we looked like a couple of homeless guys with a dog and were not ready to buy right away.

I feel like somebody slipped me acid and I had about a really bad trip. #dodgeram #chrysler

Our 365th Taps ceremony today where we began this mission one year ago.

Today we honored Army Specialist 4 Heath Alexander Wilkison, Combat Veteran, who took his own life earlier this year.
Today we were joined by the Wilkison family. His father, Bryan, read the names.
Gander positioned himself during the reading of the names so that he had everyone’s six.
This journey began almost 5 years ago when we met a performance artist at TED who was publicly recognizing the deaths of Iraq and Afghanistan civilians by playing bells in public areas every time a civilian was lost to war.
We decided to do something to honor the other victims of war who had come back to America but had not yet returned “home.”
This year we honored hundreds of soldiers who took their own lives and many times we were joined by family members who courageously read the names of the family members they lost.
I can say without reservation this has been the most humbling honor of my life.

We stopped by the Buffalo trace distillery. These are the people they give out the Eagle Rare Life award every year. We are finalists.
Spent some time talking to a former Marine car gunnery sergeant who now works at the distillery.
He clued us in on the history of the distillery. Built in the 1800s it’s one of the youngest in the country.

Antietam Cemetery. One of the original 14 national cemeteries.
It overlooks one of the battlefields. The bloodiest day in American history. Number 25,000 casualties.
One mass grave contains over four thousand union soldiers.
The most beautiful of the 14 original cemeteries.
Sacred ground.

Taps at Mill Creek National Cemetery. One of the original 14. It is near the site of the first Kentucky battle of the Civil War which was won by Union troops.
Many of the graves, marks only by a small rectangular stone are filled with the remains of unknown soldiers moved from battlefields nearby.
It is been an extraordinary few hours in Nancy Kentucky. The people in this neck of the woods are the friendliest I have encountered in all my travels this year.

‪Taps at Cave Hill National Cemetery in Louisville. ‬
‪Resting place of many notables: ‬
‪Colonel Harlan Sanders‬

‪and Muhammad Ali‬ ‪It’s fitting, but greatly ironic that Ali is buried International cemetery after refusing to be drafted into the US military.‬
