I find tiny casualties of September falling softly in the garden.

Early one morning, I heard their wings settling in the field around the house. I held my breath and quietly slipped outside into the center of the flock. This was what I saw✨

Reach | 16”x 20” #oilpainting. I like the idea of letting you decide if she’s lost her hat, or purposefully set it free.

Elsewhere — an eight inch #oilpainting for the @principlegallery Small Works show.

@nicholasjared & I’ve been pouring every spare moment of this year into restoring our 1975 #Airstream with our daughter eagerly helping out too. We’re excited for lots of family traveling in our future, but for now I can’t help but paint how it shines on grey fall evenings in the field, waiting for the road.

I remember putting my camera down to watch them ride across the valley and struggling to believe the moment was real. When @TravelAlberta invited me to share a favorite memory from my past visit, I knew this would be the one I’d choose. The Tonquin Valley is one of the most dreamlike places I’ve ever experienced. | #sponsored

feeling the shift of seasons with these hues 🍁| work in progress. .
some of you have asked me to post more progress shots of paintings, so I'll do my best! It's easy for me to get lost in my work and not think about sharing the process until I'm in the final stages, but I'd like to break out of that habit. This close up is one of several paintings I've been busy rotating. I'll add depth to the fabric and soften edges in the next layer of paint.

A slow shutter I took while putting finishing touches on this one some time ago. 'Last of the Season,' currently showing in @PrincipleGallery | #oilpainting

This view feels like a lost piece of another planet to me💫. I've been working on a painting this week with colors inspired from this shot I took in Arizona. It's making me want to go back!

I loved working with @Audi to draw the new S5 Sportback. Slowing down to capture each flowing line by hand let me truly appreciate the design of this car. I couldn't help getting carried away beyond the edge of my paper. // #AudiS5 #AudiSportback #AudiPartner

On summer evenings we count deer in the field for just a few breaths of simplicity. There's something about watching an early moon rise over them while the last sunlight still slants warmly on dry grass that lets the rest of the world fall away. | #oilpainting

🎨Recently visited this old friend in NYC while it's on loan from a collector. "Patience, Cocoons are Temporary" is hanging in the Salmagundi Club, 47 Fifth Ave. until June 1st, then heading to the MEAM Museum, Barcelona from Sept 23 - Nov 27 as part of the ARC International Exhibit (admission is free if you'd like to stop in). I loved seeing paintings included from so many places around the world.

I know it's spring when the barn swallows begin their early morning aerial ballet in the backyard. I think this one enjoyed teasing my camera with it's speedy wings.

My little girl is turning three. Most mornings she dresses up like she's going to a ball only to run outdoors barefoot, minutes later, calling me to join her "adventure club!" and explore a muddy field 💕. I've never felt time move so quickly, I've never been more grateful for photos to freeze the moments that I can. \\ Nara, Japan from the archives

My two year old daughter asked me one morning where the (other) stars go when the sun rises. I tried explaining they don't leave the sky, but we just can't see them during the day. She was pretty disappointed by this thought, so we decided to imagine we have the ability to see every star shining all the time, no matter what. I can't even begin to tell you how much awe I have for her version of the world. ✨ | eight inch #oilpainting
