Lemon Dream bliss from @flourandstone. Pillowy soft meringue on mattresses of lemon butter cake interspersed with layers of double cream and the perfectly sharp zing of lemon curd. Oh yes. Hello happy place. 😴💭🍋🍰😋

Salted egg yolks wrapped in seaweed then calamari then wrapped in pastry and deep-fried. It works. Deliciously so. 🐣🍘🦑🔥

Linguine with black garlic and burnt chilli is so fragrant that everyone in the room knows when it arrives at your table. An umami bomb that kept giving me echoes of Vegemite.

The carpaccio halal snack pack by @acmesydney is so far removed from the late night greasefest it's lol-worthy yet insidiously tasty. Highlights included the tabouli sauce and the micro fine potato straws across the top. It's fully sick, mate.

The sai oua sausage roll at @boon_cafe is genius. A mashup of Thai street food and Aussie tuckshop staple that makes perfect sense as you relish every juicy, zingy and flaky mouthful. Thanks for getting us onto this @palisaanderson!

It's not a Cafe Opera without an opera cake. Epic all-you-can-eat seafood buffet last night with balmain bugs, spanner crabs, blue swimmers, sashimi and Sydney rock oysters. The raspberry sorbet was just the acidic cleanse needed to clear the palate - and the stomach - for dessert. #invite

Crab boudin blanc with XO sauce and pickled fennel but it's the dish in the background that was my fave of the night. Eggplant with black pepper and cashew was a complete umami bomb. Of course it's the one dish I didn't photograph up close. Glistening black sauce at nighttime = 😭 but definite 🍆❤️

The taco yaki from @paperbirdpottspoint is a real Doh! moment when it arrives on your table. That's a rice flour taco with octopus (tako) and the usual takoyaki condiments of bulldog sauce plus dancing bonito flakes. 🌮🐙
