@njinla and I showed up wearing twin pants for our lunch date - I think that's a sign for sure...

93 and sunny with a chance of powder sugar snow...🤷🏼‍♀️❄️
I think I was a farmer in a past life 👩🏼‍🌾 I take serious pleasure in taking care of, nurturing and checking in on my garden daily. There is such a sense of accomplishment when you get that plant to be its best! Well maybe that’s just me and the tiny victory that our pomegranate gifted us with such lovely presents this year...exactly 4, and I’ll take it! I just love how home crops are awkward, strangely shaped and still with all the stems & petals. They look particularly beautiful to me, but maybe that’s just this gorgeous rattan & ceramic bowl from @spinceramicsusa making them shine a little extra bright 😬✨
Because the last thing anyone needs to be doing right now is searching for vintage Bakerex Crownware on eBay. But boy! Those textures and signs of decades use are a dream on camera and this particular piece I rent time and time again from @thesurfacelibrary - someone take my “buy it now” button away from me STAT because 💸😳💸
Start of the week and the start of something packed with holiday spice! Is it just me, or are all things Gingerbread trending hard this year?!! Working on a syrup that would be perfect for your winter coffee or cocktail...or maybe even your pancakes!🤷🏼‍♀️🎄
When the prop clean up pile looks as good as the shoot. From rattan caning to hammered copper and even Almelia Bedelia linen lace...I’m really feeling all these mixed textures that effortlessly fell together today on a whim! (What would you pick / add in?!) 🍂
Back to some more seasonally appropriate work today - waving that golden ginger & turmeric flag with hopes this tonic just might be our winter cold cure all 🙌🏻⚡️ Oh, and we can totally put some tequila in it too (recipe coming soon)

🎼Walking in a Winter Wonderland 🤗🌬
_____________________________________________________________ Sooooo much holiday work happening right now... But ’tis the season! 🤷🏼‍♀️💕
Have you guys ever tried a feijoa fruit?! It’s pretty wild - often said to have the flavor combo of strawberry, pineapple & guava... but I’m really getting some cray licorice earthy root like vibes happening too. Always love trying new flavors and this one is particularly unique. Especially interested in its use for cocktail infusions 🤔💚
HAPPY WEEKENDING!! This fall heatwave has me wishing @robinnwatts would magically show up again on our patio with a fine oh fine rosé tasting. Fall...where’d you go?!!! 😳🔥

I think I've been baking Christmas cookies for 5 straight hours and still have two dozen to go. Eye on the prize Kristin .... EYE.ON.THE.PRIZE 😳(trying not to think of all the frosting and filigree that needs to be added onto some of these in the morning before tomorrow's shoot) ...Send wine.
I'm just going to come out and say it - floral pumpkins are going to be all the rage this year...
Do you guys love rotating your dining table centerpiece to change look with the season? I tend to change it up 4-6 times a year only because I think the tabletop is an exceptional gallery to showcase new and old favorite things. Here's what I've got on center stage right now - simple neutrals with loads of textural detail (I even snuck in a surprise ceramic experiment of my own which I'm really loving - a play on a Japanese weed vase- yay for ceramic class!) 🙌🏻💕- tap for sources
Typical. You finally find the one "autumnal"
vignette in your "always summer" backyard - and then this one just refuses to get out of the way for prime light /photo hour... it's called a deadline #Ginger_rocket !!!! 🙈💨
Sometimes when you want to experiment with pink oyster mushrooms, you've got to grow your own darn pink oyster mushrooms!! What a thrill these last few weeks have been learning and adjusting to get the perfect looking caps & gills. Lesson learned: if you want vibrant color you must mist spores 3-4 times a day in a dimly lit space with double boiled purified tap water rather than distilled bottle water... my first attempt was sad, limp and white. I can't wait to toss these beauties in with some scallops over a plate of squid ink pasta tomorrow - definitely worth the wait, they smell amazing! 🙌🏻💕
We are all crushing hard on autumn right now - I see you! And this time of year I'm usually pretty knee deep in Christmas shoots which is why I think it's important to think about the transitional seasons as a spectacular entertaining opportunity as well. One of my all time favorite fall hued tables was at this gorgeous spread hosted by the lovely lady duo of @filigreesuppers - proving that adding a little mismatched amber glass to the table makes alllll the difference 🙌🏻🍂🍁🍂
Rainy morning has me wishing for express donut deliveries in bed. I could really go for a kaffir corn cruller with a side of coffee milk...which tastes like melted coffee ice cream, in other words it tastes like a dream. 🤗💕
Can you believe this is an aquarium?! This 103 year old building was designed by famed Detroit architect Albert Kahn who insisted on floor to ceiling emerald glass tiles to give the shimmering feeling of being underwater. Definitely a highlight of my Motor City adventures... there is so much Art Deco wonder to be found at every turn. 🙌🏻⚡️
Playing with fire today in the studio...and this time I managed to not set off the fire alarm 🚨🙏🏻 Feeling invigorated and inspired after a week of travel, but happy to be back working on a bunch of new projects... like this smoked (two ways) cherry manhattan. 🥃🍒💨Recipe coming soon - Hope you're all having a smokin' start of the week too!
I've got the lounge all to myself this morning! ☕️💕 This might be one of the most thoughtfully designed hotels I've been to. Handsome, rugged, every little detail in brass. Bravo for keeping the original integrity of this 1929 Detroit fire station (it still has all the poles, hose racks tiled walls and floors) while giving it new life with all elements created and crafted by local artisans. Here's to soaking up all the details this fine Sunday - hope your day is off to a lovely start too!
