Dressings do make a salad. 🙌Method: add real food ingredients to jar & shake. Ready! I love the zesty Asianesque number but the Ranch is quite awesome, too. The other best bit? Healthy snacks don't come prettier than this, do they? Homemade raspberry and chia seed jelly - Mia absolutely loves these! I do too. Scroll down for the recipe:
• ¼ cup frozen or fresh raspberries
• ½ tablespoon chia seeds
• 2 teaspoons gelatin
• 1½ cups water
• Edible flowers, for decoration (optional)
Defrost raspberries if using frozen. Soak chia seeds in ½ cup of the water, mix gelatin with another ½ cup water and leave both for 10 minutes to bloom. Bring the remaining ½ cup water to the boil then remove from heat. Mix the berries, chia seed gel, bloomed gelatin in a heatproof jug and add the boiling water. Mix well. Divide between 4 serving moulds. Place in the fridge for 30-60 minutes to set. Serve topped with some edible flowers, if using.
The funny thing is that in Polish broadbeans are called bób which is pronounced "boob". Languages hey! Either way they remind me of high summers by the seaside. They were sold podded and as kids we would spend hours sitting in the heat and squeezing the creamy flesh out of the little shells. Food has an amazing way of "making memories" and I am so glad many of mine include real moments of happiness eating real food like this.
What's your favourite easy brekky? 😋🕐 I currently can't get past sourdough with avo, tuna "paste" made with brown rice, corn and pasta sauce, topped with cucumbers and fresh tomatoes. I make the paste ahead of time and keep in a jar in the fridge for the week.

We had a bit of a trial practice of blowing out ONE candle today since Matt is away next weekend for Mia's actual birthday and party. Swipe for more cuteness! He and Zac spent most of the day putting together the swing and slide set from the family. Then we enjoyed a barbecue and cake Liana and I made. Mia's first real foray into cake. She had a whole slice and loved loved it. 💕 Hey Mamas, quick question... how do you deal with regular bedtime and daylight savings? Block out blinds? Later bedtime?

Hello Sunday! Hello Avocado No Toast. Yup, it's not a typo... Although I like to serve bread on the side, it's not essential. Creamy and tangy and fresh with charred lemon. Can you feel summer is almost here?
An afternoon pick me up thanks to @ovvioorganics Chocolat Mint tea because planning two separate 1st Birthday parties and attending one is hard work people. I'm not much of a choc-mint fan, so when I say this is good, it really is.

Mum's obviously staying home today (see all the garlicky pesto there) 🤣 enjoying her spinach and speck scramble, while I had a flip over spinach omelette with buttered sourdough sans pesto while doing something very exciting - see more on Instastories - how time flies is all I can say!
What do you do / make with leftover fresh basil? 🌱I need some inspiration beyond making a nutty pesto (today it's Brazil nuts and pine nuts) with garlic and @cobramestate extra virgin olive oil which, by the way, is perfect for stirring through pasta, dolloping on salads, dips or spreading on sandwiches 😋what else can we make??
Mia's asleep, the cover of my next cookbook has been shot - it was a massive undertaking with prep, cooking and sharing a meal with friends and neighbours of all ages. I'm pooped and about to sit down to an evening of writing. Coffee and farm cheese loaf will be my treat. Oh, and the tulips to keep me company. So beautiful! Tomorrow and over the weekend I'm attending the lifestyle medicine conference with so many interesting sessions and speakers. No rest for the wicked. I'll be sharing some of the insights from the conference on the blog. Stay tuned.
