First time making Instant Pot Vietnamese yogurt... never had it before so not sure if I made it right but can’t go wrong with condensed milk and Hello Kitty jars. 😛 😋 Tot approved.

Keroppi attempt? 😂 Should have looked at more pics for reference. Apparently he’s more cross eyed. #onigiriaction

Trying out new bento book... bee’s face got a bit smooshed and he looks more resigned than cutesy and egg was initially trapped in pan since I put a lid over pan that was too small. >_<; Not bad though for first try and came together faster than I thought. 😘

Tot's bento...except she woke up still coughing so turned out mommy didn't need to wake up early for this. 😓 Her comment on seeing it when she got up? "Yay Pikachu!! *looks at inspiration pic on my phone* But mommy how come it looks different from the picture?" #brutaltots 😔😑#plumpikachu

Finally made a batch of Instant Pot bone broth that I'm happy with! Couldn't wait for it to cool and skim fat. 😅

It's like #justonecookbook and FB knew what ingredients I had in my fridge yesterday and showed me recipes for corn soup, garlic miso chicken wings, and spinach salad with wafu dressing. All three recipes using up misc ingredients in fridge that I either had just enough of and needed to use up asap or had too much of and needed to make a dent in. 🤔 Mysterious internet. 😛 Super yummy with just enough leftovers for lunch the next day. 😋

Tot's bento makes a reappearance now that she's only going 3x a week! - Onigiri shaped like Kumamon, a star, and a heart; roast chicken; broccoli and cucumbers with kyupi mayo; yellow peaches #onigiriaction

Late lunch - Getting fancy with the foie and triple cream brie! 😉 Also La Brea Bakery Take & Bake French baguettes are awesome - you can have warm fresh bread in just 10 minutes! 😋

Attempted temari sushi (ball shaped sushi) as part of our evening picnic with tot at the library's summer reading concert series. Need to budget more time for making these... 😅

Used the dough from my favorite milk bread recipe to make buns stuffed with stir-fried chicken & mushrooms. 😋 I've finally discovered the beauty of using instant yeast. Seriously why didn't I use it earlier. #saf #kingarthurflour

Jam buns and sandwich bread! 😋 Need a Pullman loaf pan that can make bigger squares like the milk bread from Paris Baguette... 🤔

Revised my lu rou fan recipe with some input from MiL and loving this version! Plus, more whole wheat mantou experimenting - this time with tot's help. Can you guess which ones were hers? 😛 1/3 whole wheat, 1/3 whole wheat pastry flour, 1/3 AP flour. Darker look, still very soft and fluffy, but not "bready" enough in texture for me. Maybe need to swap the AP with bread flour.... 🤔

After much nagging from tot, as well as inspiration from @rskitchn, finally got around to making some mantou again - this time incorporating some whole wheat pastry flour and whole wheat flour as well as spinach and purple sweet potato. Will definitely be playing around with the ratios of flours some more to see if I can up the whole wheat content, but am pretty happy with this batch - still very soft and fluffy! :D

Sous vide double cut pork chop, seared in browned butter 😋 Happy with how juicy & tender it came out! Tot was happy too - until I added some roasted eggplant as a side to her bowl - all tears/sobs for a good half of the meal then. 🙄
