Ryan made us baked eggs and avocado toast for breakfast. I'm dying of wonderful food overload.

Reminiscing hard about this time last year when we canoed down the Rio Grande in Big Bend for a couple days. Pure magic.

Over the last two weekends my little house has gotten the love of a million improvements. My dad came to visit and while @matthewarthur was working we took down parts of 4 walls of the kitchen, removed the washer and dryer, rewired the kitchen, and prepped a whole lot for professionals to fix what we messed up. We’re no so close to achieving the first part of a vision I’ve held since I saw this gem - I just can’t wait to get some help with drywall to bring it all together. The cool thing about all this chaos is that it’s making the house really feel like home, and figuring out the details is so exciting. I’m so excited to see what this little bungalow becomes.

I’ve been taking ceramics classes the last few months to get back in touch with making real things, art things. It’s been a solid learning curve and I look forward to it almost every day. Getting my hands dirty and being physical in creating work feels so good to my soul - even though these pieces are imperfect I love how they reflect my thoughts and focus. Stoked to keep making.

For a long time I’ve wanted to plant wildflowers to take over my lawn. Today that dream became a reality when we spread 300,000 native, local seeds. I’m hoping that this small measure brings my 1/10 acre closer to being bird and pollinator friendly, manages rain and runoff better, and makes the crazy shaped yard delightful for us and Arlo year round. Fingers crossed they’ll all take root!

Hang in there tinies - you delicate and resilient, impossibly soft but woody and sparing, strongly rooted gems.
Never too old to try a corn maze for the first time

Back in Philly for the first time in seven's a trip. So many things are different and yet most things are the same. After working long days and reflecting on last weekend's epic celebration with friends, it feels so good to spend some time alone walking the parts of the city I frequented when I lived here. Lotta mixed emotions - the city is gritty and classic, the people kinder than I remembered, and the sky, a lot moodier. And I think I'll always maintain Philadelphia is a great town to visit, because it makes me miss home.

I got to spend a long weekend in the Georgia mountains celebrating the love of my best friends with hiking, fires, dancing and golf cart races through the woods. Feeling very lucky to be surrounded with so much love and beauty in my life, this little lookout doesn't do it justice, but I was too excited to take many pictures.

Told a lot of epic stories about this guy last night, and I also happen to owe him a phone call. Hi dad!

Not sure there's anything better than soaking in a spring fed cold pot like this gem.

I made a shadow box to watch the eclipse. Totally worth it. Such a humbling experience, makes me feel tiny in the best way possible.

Never seen blues like these before, even in my home state.
