8 days! It's been 8 days since I've been unable to do my workouts, and I feel so out of whack. My attitude is different, my mood is off, my energy is low, I feel like I'm going to burst. This shoulder injury turned out to be worse than I thought. I never would have imagined I'd be sitting here complaining that I can't workout. I'm the girl who made excuses as to why I couldn't workout in the past. I NEED to get back to my routine. I need to start feeling like myself again. I never want to be the old version of myself ever again...

When I was 16 years old I had to deal with nasty sexual remarks and sometimes physical harassment on a daily basis while I was at work from my bosses. One was old enough to be my dad and the other my grandfather. When I told them I felt uncomfortable they told me to learn to deal with it because that's what men do to women with curves and that it was a compliment. The man old enough to be my grandfather would call me wanting to talk and we caught him driving down my street numerous times. I quit shortly after all those events. I had another co-worker at another job grope me one night when I was closing up and when he was confronted he said, "She wanted me to do it, she had shorts on." Or the guy in the lounge that thought it was okay to stick his hand up my dress as I was walking by with my girlfriends and grabbed my behind. Or the other jerk who thought it was okay to grab my behind as I was holding hands with my man walking out of a pizzeria. Let's not forget the endless pictures of strange men's packages I get in my inbox, and vulgar comments. The very fact that these men even think we want to see their junk is disturbing in itself. Being told I'm asking for it because I post pictures in my workout clothes. All these experiences have taught me that I should be ashamed of my body parts. That I have to dress a certain way to avoid men saying and doing things to me. That if I feel confident in my skin I can't show it otherwise I'll be viewed negatively. No woman should be subjected to any sexual abuse under any circumstances and men should never be excused from their behavior. This attitude of, "that's what men do, deal with it" is wrong on so many levels. I won't allow this stupidity to rule over me any longer.

I'm so annoyed at myself. My form was off when I was working out and I injured my shoulder, then I also pulled a muscle at the same time. I've been in pain for about a week now. This made me realize just how important working out is to me. You know the feeling you get when you lose something? And you're off the whole day. That's how I feel when I can't work out. And I feel on edge, working out helps me deal with my anxiety in a healthy way and now I just feel annoyed!! In the meantime, I'm focusing on my nutrition. I started my day with my superfoods let's hope I can stay healthy the rest of the day.
I'm about to keep it real with ya'll. I suffer from anxiety multiple times a week. Driving is a trigger. My thoughts get the best of me and the anxiety overpowers me. BUT music is life... so my trick is to pump the volume and sing my heart out. It keeps me distracted and changes my mood. You may see a female enjoying music in her car, but what you fail to see is a woman who refuses to allow anxiety to control her. I'm too strong to let this anxiety get the best of me.

If you follow me on insta-stories you know I like to dance before, after and in-between workout sets! Shoot all the time! Dancing is therapy for me. And I don't like to take myself too seriously. If you can't laugh at yourself -- you must be miserable 😭! Stop caring what people think of you and do YOU!

People hear clean eating and they think salads and grilled chicken. I'm here to tell you clean eating is so much more than that boring, mediocre style eating. I love Chinese food but I never eat it because I know they add a lot of junk, oil and they don't use the highest quality ingredients. I made Organic Honey Sesame Chicken over quinoa and steamed broccoli. This came out more delicious than I expected! Ingredients in the comment section. Who's going to make it?

Let's talk 🍌's!!! #1 Pre-Workout Boost!
Bananas not only have one of the highest carbohydrate counts of any fruit, they also release their energy in three separate increments. Bananas contain three different types of sugar—glucose and fructose [both simple carbs], plus sucrose [a complex carb]. After eating one, you get a quick and powerful boost of energy, which is then followed by a steady release of complex carbs into the bloodstream.
# 2 Replenish Muscles Post-Workout
During intense exercise, your glycogen supply is depleted. The banana's greatest benefit could be its large amount of potassium—an electrolyte that promotes muscle growth, boosts the immune system and facilitates calcium absorption, which in turn helps build stronger bones.

#3 Relieve Stress and Amp Up Brain Power! When your body and mind are stressed, your potassium levels are lowered. A banana can help restore your system's natural balance. It can even have a calming effect due to its concentration of tryptophan.

Guess what I had as a pre-workout snack!!
