Iโ€™ve slacked with my wide grip pull ups- my max is 6/7 so my aim is to get that number up in a month using the booklet! It's been a hot (cold) minute IG! I've been super busy but I'm trying to stop complaining about being busy because I love everything I do. But given that, my training hasn't been as on point recently. That, coupled with how cold it was today, bar work was tough!! But that's what training is for, it's not meant to be easy ๐Ÿ˜‘

I got so much great advice today at the Women's Fitness summit 2017 organised by the amazing and inspiring woman that is @joslynthompsonrule. Educating the masses ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ
I didn't even know it was possible but after today I am even more in awe of these ladies. As @teevonzee said, super women!! Her included ๐Ÿ˜
We spoke about all of our stories both fitness and non-fitness (because not all of us come from sports science degrees) and I added my bit about the risks I took moving from corporate to fitness and how I've managed to do this while keeping a roof over my head and my tummy fed! I have absolutely loved making the Reshape and Rumble music week mixes. We've had 90s Classics, HipHop vs Grime, Club Classics and House vs Garage- it has been so much fun!! Shouts to my AM 90s classics reshapers this morning, I had to get the door knocker earrings out and put my pony to the side for it! โ˜บ๏ธ (also thanks for the thumbs up guys ๐Ÿ˜‚)

๐Ÿšด๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธCyclists this is for you- especially if you donโ€™t have cleats. We do a lot of pushing action when we cycle which can make cycling quad (front of thigh) dominant- defo the case for me. So to get some balance back the good old hammies and glutes (back of thigh and bumpa) need to be put to work- this does the trick!
Iโ€™ve playing with the 6-12-25 workout (good when youโ€™re not sure whether to do strength, hypertrophy (muscle building) or endurance). You can be greedy and do them all!

๐Ÿ’ช๐ŸพLeg curls x 12 Tempo 30X0
๐Ÿ’ช๐ŸฟGood mornings x 25 (light) tempo 20X0

NB: Tempo 40X0 means (4= 4 seconds down, 0= Zero rest at the bottom, X=Explode and 0= Zero rest at the top)

We Just Did It! Yesterday @foodandlycra hosted our JUST DOIN' IT - Press Ups and Pull Ups workshop at @oneldnstudios
It was all about checking form and tekkers, slowing things down, getting it right and using our phones to check ourselves (rather than for the instastory or snap ๐Ÿ‘€). We went through techniques to work towards either a full press up, more press ups or a strict pull up
Everyone walked away with a couple drops of knowledge, an F&L polka dot edition tote filled with treats and (most importantly) our F&L press up planner. Because we all know the real work is outside the workshop, what you do at home and what you do in your spare time- which is why we called the workshop JUST DOIN' IT
We still have totes available as well as press up and pull up planners available to buy, drop me a DM if you want one! They'll make excellent fitness stocking fillers ๐Ÿ˜ I reckon these will go quick!

I took my mum to work today! We went to @1rebeluk for a ride sesh with the awesome @mialbers and she smashed it! She's 58 and loves to power walk and swim everyday, I've started PTing her in an effort to get her stronger which will help get her bones stronger. My response to anyone who says women shouldn't train upper body.... ๐Ÿ’…๐Ÿผ
Get out of the 60s mate! So many gains from training upper body:
- Better posture
- Less risk of injury
- Makes all your workouts more effective
- Protects your bones making them stronger and building their density
- You can hold your own on the tube as people barge past you
- More arm wrestle wins to add to your title
- General feeling of super power
So when the boys at @jrelzmedia asked me to feature in their #GainsOnly video series I just had to take them to the bar and show them one of my favourite ways to train.
Go check these guys out, this is their side project while they're at uni but they're already doing big things- I'm excited for their future! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ
