I was lucky enough to visit NYC recently, even for a brief moment. And I loved every minute of it. The noise, the weather (it was a high 70s), the energy of the rush hour, the stroll through Bryant Park, the museums, and oh, how the sunlight bounces of buildings, making street photography always come out beautiful.
One of the few highlights was getting to the top of the One World Tower (that tallest building in the second pic), and the 9/11 museum below it. The museum feels sacred the moment I walked into it, maybe because of the scale of the tragedy that happened. All the displays inside the museum are so overwhelming, even for people from outside of the US, because after all, it was a tragedy for humanity. So much so, that they provide boxes of tissue on some corners of the room.
I gotta say that New Yorkers are resilient, because even though something as appalling as that 9/11 attack happened, NYC still came out as a beautiful city with many diverse residents and different cultures melt into one. You have the chinatown and little Italy side by side, the kebab cart in front of an Irish pub, a glance inside a subway train, you get the idea.

What happened this week will show nothing more than New York’s strength in the face of terror. People will embrace each other ’til there is no room for fear, and go on with their lives, as their freedom in life intended. *picture taken from PATH exchange place, New Jersey. •

Saw this man admiring the Baroque piece from Cristòbal de Villalpando, stood there for quite some time. Art could have that effect on you, I mean, look at the sheer size of that painting, that alone could overwhelm you.

#nofilter #noedits, checking out the iphone 8+ portrait mode at the store, I gotta say I'm impressed. The AT&T store wasn't decently lit either. It's tempting,.. but naaah.

Inside, not as nice as the one in Shibuya, but outside, it is iconic.

It's been 72 years since Indonesia, as a nation, freed herself from colonialism. With wars, colonialism, slavery, the world was an ugly place to live in. We have our heroes to thank for the freedom that we have.
72 years may be a long time, but seeing the recent political fiasco, the demonstrations over a statue and the friction between majorities and minorities that divides the city of Jakarta, proves otherwise. 72 years of freedom is not long enough to see progress, especially in term of mentality. If anything, the people of Indonesia seem moving backward lately.
Hopefully with the celebration of the Independence day, we are reminded once again, that there were Indonesian people, our people, the majorities and the minorities, side by side, fought and gave up their lives for this nation. All to ensure that the generations to come will have FREEDOM, NOT TO DO WHATEVER THEY COULD, BUT TO DO WHATEVER THEY SHOULD.
We all need to stand against what is wrong with the past years in the politics, the exploits of religion. Speak out against this, because ignoring it has the same consequences as supporting it.

72 years, we CAN’T go backwards.

"Every generations feel that they live in the moments, moments which are influencing the future." One of the perks of travelling alone was no schedule to stick to. Took my own time enjoying the bustling Tokyo. I just stopped for quite some time in Ginza area, immersing into the chaos, and occasionally took some pictures.
Thanks @_f7 for the awesome lightroom preset. Yours is one of the inspirational streams since the beginning of instagram. Really love the effect it gave on this picture.

Beautiful sky to start the day. When there's no smog it doesn't feel like Jakarta at all.

A year ago, feels a long time already, love the city of Amsterdam and its vast art collections. The Eye Film Museum is one of the newer building, hence that futuristic look, it looks like a friggin robot! Here you can discover the history of movies, buy collections of movie memorabilias and view selected short-film exhibitions on display. And if you find the 'iamsterdam' sign at the Rijks Museum is too crowded, there is another one at the 'Eye's frontyard which is less packed.
It's only a ferry ride (no charge!) away from the Amsterdam Centraal, admission is free (some fee for the film running at the theatres). Really worth a visit whether you're into movies or not.

Mahkota Binokasih (replica of Golden crown of Binokasih, circa 1360 a.d.) - commisioned photowork for Mandiri Prioritas.
One of our nation's majestic relics, the crown was used by Sundanese kings during inauguration ceremony. Take a peek of history, Prabu Geusan Ulun Museum, Sumedang, Indonesia.
