Another 🎡 conquered! I was in Singapore over the weekend for Backstreet Boys' concert so I did the most touristy thing to do by going up the Singapore Flyer!
__________________________
Did you know that Singapore Flyer measures 165 metres in height or about the height of a 42-storey building? Or in another fun way to describe the height, it is as tall as 31 male giraffes stacked on top of one another! 😄

Strolling the heritage streets of Penang is the best way to enjoy the old town. As early as 1803, Love Lane had already appeared on a map of George Town, Penang.
__________________________
There is no complete agreement as to how Love Lane got its name. There is a belief that it was named after a British officer named Love, but this has not been verified. Another belief is that it was the site for early 19th century brothels for sailors and soldiers. Or the most commonly belief is the rich typhoon living at the adjacent road, Muntri Street, use Love lane to keep their mistresses.
Which one do you believe then?

[New blog post! Link in Bio] I just discovered my favourite luxury hotel, The Edison George Town in Penang! This Anglo-Colonial inspired mansion was the residence of local tycoon back in 1906, and was later used by the Japanese army during the World War II as the Japanese administrative centre during the Japanese Occupation, then a budget hotel before transforming into this beautifully restored mansion hotel.

Did you know that this mansion is located on Leith Street, which was once known as the Hakka Millionaire’s Row, where all the affluent Hakka Chinese businessmen once lived during the British colonial days?
