Having this sweet girly room never gets old. It is the funniest thing, but Lucy loves this sign above her changing table. Besides people, it’s the only thing she consistently giggles and smiles at. Maybe because it’s so familiar? Or perhaps she just appreciates beautiful things like her momma.

Henry’s been on a lantern-making kick all weekend. They are hidden all over the house and I love it.

Finally got a chance to visit @oniongrovemercantile in person this morning with @decorandthedog. Sharing some photos of the gorgeous space in my stories. Jen is so talented and I loved catching up.
Am I the only one who asked for home decor for Christmas? This rug was one of my favorite gifts, and it pulled the whole living room together. (More pictures and details on the blog.)

It’s still cold out there. But the snow reflects sunshine into the house like a mirror. And I have blankets. So I think I’ll survive.

After 10 years of renovating and moving and renovating and moving and building and moving ... 2017 was a year that I really wanted to slow down and find contentment at home. Spending less time on the BFPs (big fat projects)and more time just enjoying the fruits of our labor. I’m sharing some observations about this mind shift on the blog today, if you’re into that kind of thing.

Those are pumpkins covered by snow in the front yard. Because I never got around to decorating for a Christmas outside before it got too cold. But on the plus side - I don’t have to take any of the decorations down now in the freezing temps. Which is good since I’ve been hunkering down.

Wrapping gifts and throwing some cookies in the oven for a party tonight. I love this little corner of our kitchen. Even when it’s covered in a fine layer of flour.

Oh, hey. Just a little dose of ovary-killing cuteness to start your day. Lucy’s looking rather Christmas-ready in her buffalo check. One should always match your holiday decor, you know. (Photo by @maryephotography.)

Can you believe it’s only two more weeks until Christmas? My shopping is done (thank you, Internet), but there’s still plenty of wrapping and baking and memory-making to come. What do you still have to do to prepare for Christmas?
I do love a perfectly themed and coiffed tree. But this simple, silly, sentimental tree filled with all family ornaments may be my favorite. Unpacking the bins of mismatched ornaments is probably one of my favorite parts of Christmas decorating each year. (P.S. sharing some favorite sentimental ornaments in my stories.)

It’s no secret that there’s no place I’d rather be than at home with these two goobers. That’s one reason I’m doing most of my Christmas shopping from home this year. Also because I don’t have to get out or my pajamas. Sharing some of my top shopping picks from @amazonhandmade on the blog today. It’s the perfect way to shop small - from artisans and creative small business - without leaving the couch. #AmazonHandmade #IC #ad

Hanging all our sentimental ornaments on a new tree in the basement tonight. This ornament may have been purchased before Ryan and I were born, but it was Ryan’s gram’s and it gets hung every year. Along with handprint Rudolphs, ornaments from every vacation we’ve taken, photo ornaments, gifts from friends, and plenty dating from college and childhood. Nothing gets tossed. Because I love all the beautiful trees in the world, but there’s nothing more beautiful than these memories. ❤️🎄❤️
